R.I.P. Mike Wallace

Love him or hate him, Mike Wallace helped define real journalism before mainstream news turned completely pro-government and lame:

Always enjoyed Wallace's hard-hitting style of interviews. One of the greats for sure. I was surprised he was 93...didn't think he was that old. RIP.

because Mike Wallace was 93 would be the answer. he lived almost 20 years longer than the average male and worked into his late 80's. he was very fortunate.

sad that the last 5 years of his life were spent in a care facility and he was losing his faculties. there is such a thing as living too long. i bet he'd rather have died at 85 with his boots/microphone on.

Mike Wallace RIP

ADG

Met him in fall of 1968 when he joined 60 Minutes and he was on a tour of CBS affiliated stations of which one I worked at as an engineer. I was working for WKNX-TV at the time when I had a chance to meet him and chat with him. Always liked his approach to news stories and his persistence to dig to the bottom of things to bring out the 'whole story'. He will be missed and was a great journalist and reporter. RIP Mike. Even tho I met Cronkite and Rather I liked Mike best of all of the 3.

Too bad his son is such an asshat. Then again, compared to the rest, he's pretty good for that channel.

Fap 04-09-2012 11:28 AM
