silly photoshop question..
 

how does one create a drop shadow?

select the layer that you want the drop shadow to appear on... go to Layer / Layer Style / Drop Shadlow

then you can edit the properties within.


you don't need to come on to GFY to ask how to do somethin simple like that. just go to google.com and search for "photoshop basics tutorial" or something.

You're right... it is silly.

I knew the answer would be so fucking simple and painstakingly obvious that I'd kick myself in the ass for it. I can make the most complex mods to electronics and pretty much customize any software environment, yet the simple things in photoshop excape me sometimes.
