America, FUCK YEAH!

Fap 04-04-2012 10:10 AM

It's looking too close to a corvette but I still like it

IdealImageMgmt 04-04-2012 10:26 AM

Looks very close to the Corvette. Sweet ride indeed :thumbsup

dallasnovelty 04-04-2012 10:27 AM

Looks very similar to the C6 corvette to me.

JFK 04-04-2012 10:31 AM

Looks good, too bad they didnt show the engine:winkwink:

Rochard 04-04-2012 10:50 AM

I'm not a huge fan of vipers, but that looks great. Looks like a Corvette, but Corvettes are beautiful.

I thought they had stopped making these. Seems not: http://money.cnn.com/2012/04/04/auto...ork-auto-show/

Spunky 04-04-2012 10:57 AM

Pretty damn sweet machine

ajrocks 04-04-2012 11:09 AM

Love the Viper! Cars without all the little driving aids for real drivers!

pimpmaster9000 04-04-2012 11:23 AM

I don't like it. I was literally blown away when I saw the old viper back in the day. It does not do the old viper justice IMO. Also looks like the new corvette too much. Same can be said for corvettes the new look just does not do it for me. Id give my nuts for some of the older versions or the older viper.

The new one is just pfffft iMO

V_RocKs 04-04-2012 11:24 AM

I'd hit it,2x's!

Bringing it back to build a new brand. They're spinning the SRT line into a full brand it seems.

Dirty F 04-04-2012 12:19 PM

Great car!

Would love to have one here in Holland. Never seen one actually.

alextokyo 04-04-2012 12:25 PM

It's very shiny and everything, but looks too much like a door stop fucked a bowling shoe. :1orglaugh

edgeprod 04-04-2012 02:14 PM

I hate people talking about how the Viper can't corner. Mine did fine, and even Top Gear said that it holds the road like a beast.

John-ACWM 04-05-2012 02:48 AM

Interesting back, like a Jaguar Aston Martin mixture.

Jakez 04-05-2012 02:56 AM

WOW! It looks like the old GTS, which was the sexiest viper IMO. And the front end looks great too. They really hit it out of the park with this one..

Edit: now that I think about it, it just looks like an old GTS with a Ferrari Maranello (I think that's the one?) front, Aston Martin DB'X' rear maybe.. still sexy though.

CurrentlySober 04-05-2012 03:08 AM

Way too gay...

The last thing, I would ever do, in my entire life... I to own a car that screams...

Look! I'm GGGGGGGAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! :2 cents:

The Viper ACR absolutely destroyed the record time for the Nurburgring a few years ago and held it for a while..

livexxx 04-05-2012 06:14 AM

least it looks like it doesnt give you 3rd degree burns on your calves anymore

potter 04-05-2012 08:20 AM

I've never liked vipers.

nico-t 04-05-2012 08:36 AM

the christmas lights in headlights is one of the most appalling trends ever in automotive history.

I would hope that with 355's on the rear and 295's up front that it would hold the road well!

I didn't have an ACR -- I just had a regular 2004 SRT-10 and a '99 GTS -- but it's definitely an amazing car.

Yeah. I never had any issues. It really gets under my skin when people who have never driven them say "herp derp they only go straight durr durr" ... you know the type.

Chosen 04-05-2012 12:35 PM

Looks good :)

fetishwealth 04-05-2012 01:40 PM

I never had any complaints. The interior was fine, etc. Nothing ever broke.

Apart from the fact that it shared the same stereo headunit as the Neon and Ram. :1orglaugh

But you get what you pay for and they had to cut corners somewhere, not to say the Viper is bad at all. You save $100-150k+ and have a car that performs just as well or better than the other high end exotics. Also the Viper has usually been far more of a drivers car than the rest, no stinking paddle shifters or traction control.

Plus, I got my groceries in it ... so there's that.

And I don't think I listened to the radio head unit more than once before having an aftermarket system put in with front+rear infrared/color cameras, DVD, GPS, CD changer, etc, etc.

mineistaken 04-05-2012 07:05 PM

Not sure if I would buy thiscar for that money if I had to choose.

shake 04-05-2012 08:16 PM

Still not crazy about them, but lots of power for the price.

globofun 04-05-2012 08:28 PM

The Hottest Viper ever was the 1989 Viper Concept......

Too bad they never made it like that!

Lol I still remember what Jeremy Clarkson said about the original Viper "it was built by a bunch of Americans in a barn out of old canoes" :1orglaugh

Fuck, I even remember fiddling with the little taillight pieces and snapping the wheels on the viper model car I put together when I was a kid.

Worked pretty well for Carol Shelby, or are you putting down his cars?

If I bought any car of that stature, the first thing I would modify is the stereo, they are never loud enough, and why would you care about the stereo of a car that's that fast?

Not discrediting him for what he brought to motor sports but all in all there are plenty of cars that dont need this insane amount of HP and can still keep up if not beat these "american beasts" To each his own, I like the sound of a force induced car over raw NA any day.

Choopa_Pardo 04-06-2012 08:07 AM

A 2009 Viper ACR ran a 07:12:13 at the Nurburgring.

How can anyone argue that it can't corner. If it conquered The Green Hell it more than enough car for anyone with a big enough checking account.

The ACR looked like it meant business with that big rear spoiler, rear diffuser and front splitter.

SUP. :thumbsup

I have a little Z3 roadster convertable. 99, stock it's only 193 hp. Just changing the chip I got an extra 60 hp, then I changed to a cold air intake and a better exhaust, some injection tricks, now i have a car that weighs less than 3000 lbs and has over 350 hp. This car screams thru the Malibu Canyons. I need better tires, thats next, these will wear out fast enough if I keep drifting around corners.

I'm hoping to get a new Harley this year, maybe before the new models come out for the best price and get the new 103 CI beast Bagger.

When it comes to Vipers, I like the older ones. More brute force, less refinement. US muscle car at it's very best. I got my first speeding ticket in a 66 Super Sport with a 396

When I was a kid, I built a model of a rotary motor that show you how it worked

Put your car on a dyno i bet it has no more than 240hp. Naturally aspirated cars get maybe 10-12hp from a chip...same thing with an intake and exhaust.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94028

they got 350hp AFTER a turbo was installed, hate to burst your bubble

ACR isnt stock BIG SPOILERS = DOWNFORCE...not something the stock car takes advantage of. Take a modded GTR against that and it would destroy it as well.

Just put a 100 shot of nitrous on there. I had an older 98 i30/maxima with a 150 shot on it that ran 13.2 1/4 miles with a full truck of groceries. Nitrous is fun :)

bigbootycrush 04-06-2012 09:09 AM

Nice car I want it!
