Apple is in danger of making the same mistake it did in the 80s. Android will stomp apple out once the average price for smartphones hit the $50 range and the hardware features meet or exceed apple standards. Don't laugh, it happened before.

ottopottomouse 04-03-2012 03:17 PM

get a jcb phone if you're a clumsy oaf.

Coup 04-03-2012 03:18 PM

I hear the new iPhone is gonna be made out of ice. Should just melt away before it hits the ground

Jakez 04-03-2012 04:00 PM

Had the same iphone for about 3 years and dropped it many times from as much as 6ft, the outside was all banged up and the screen had a few scratches but it was still fine. The screen did eventually get cracked though when it fell flat on its face about 1ft out of the car in the driveway, it was a tiny little rock that put all the pressure in one spot that finally did it.

Rochard 04-03-2012 04:01 PM

Maybe you should stop dropping your phone.

I've never had a phone break. Then again, I've never had an iPhone either.

d-null 04-03-2012 04:09 PM

iphones are for teenage girls

get yourself a real man's phone :2 cents:

AaronM 04-03-2012 04:13 PM

My iPhone has been dropped, kicked, tossed, thrown, and tumbled down stairs. Still works fine.

edgeprod 04-03-2012 04:27 PM

This made my head hurt, LOL ... I've dropped mine plenty without a mark on it .. but then again, it's in an Otterbox, so ...

ColBigBalls 04-03-2012 05:28 PM

Stop dropping phones that way any phone you own will seem amazing... ?

beemk 04-03-2012 05:33 PM

I broke 2 or 3 iphones from dropping them. I have a Samsung charge now and I've dropped it more times than I can count and its not broken at all.

Spunky 04-03-2012 05:45 PM

Stick to a pay phone instead ;)

candyflip 04-03-2012 05:48 PM

I drop my Samsung daily. It's got a few scratches.

My Dad, Sister and Brother in Law have iPhones. They've all broken at least one, my Brother in Law...three of them.

Mr Pheer 04-03-2012 06:01 PM

Maybe you need to wash your hands, or wear gloves.

I agree! iphone's can suck my iDick!

bronco67 04-03-2012 06:56 PM

I just wonder why every fucking zombie has an iPhone. No matter where I am, 90% of the people are fiddling with their silly little iPhone that's outfitted with one of thousands of different snazzy, hip cases. I might have had one of those phones if I didn't want to become one of those robots.

digitaldivas 04-03-2012 06:58 PM

iphones are glass phones. they are beautiful, but yeah, glass breaks easy.

NaughtyRob 04-03-2012 07:08 PM

I've had Blackberry, then iphone, then wanted to try Android. Android sucked bad, too many crashes, went to Blackberry again, couldnt get used to not having a touch screen, went back to iphone (wifes old model) fell in love with it again, then washed it by mistake, now stuck with my Samsung Galaxy S android and it crashes all the time. Can't wait to get another iphone.

thought the same for years and really the only reason I didn't try one as I didn't wanna join the apple robots, just recently picked up a 4S to see what all the fuss was about, to me think the iphone runs smoother but more controlled environment where android has some quicker phones, larger displays, more freedom but slightly less stable, so far seems to work well though and iphone appearance is kinda sharp

Chosen 04-03-2012 08:27 PM

Never bought an iPhone...

xenigo 04-03-2012 08:37 PM

I was previously a huge huge huge Blackberry fan, and had 3 generations of them... but RIM dropped the ball. The big thing for me was the IPS display and the 960x540 resolution, and the fluidity and extremely polished nature of iOS. I do wish it had more features for the power user... For example, I would like to retrieve network files via the native iOS applications, and am stuck with lackluster 3rd party solutions that aren't integrated with the OS at all. That's one thing that Blackberry had that I really loved... applications could integrate themselves into the menu structure of the OS. You could snap a photo, and then choose Send to Facebook... easy as that. Now, I snap a photo, have to back out of the camera app, and go into Facebook, find the file... and then upload. Lots of really lame-brain stuff with iOS...

But... with all of it's shortcomings, I really love how polished it is. And I love the support it has with 3rd party accessory manufacturers.

The luxury accessory manufacturers only make accessories for Apple products. There's too many Android products on the market to make that possible.

Fap 04-03-2012 08:38 PM

So your clumsiness defines a "Crappy" phone?.. why not buy a case if you cant hold it

ner0 04-03-2012 09:13 PM

How do you explain this then?

iPhone 4 falls from plane, lives to teach us physics

Same here. Apple does have one advantage though. My wife bought two Apple products. Both lasted less than 60 days. We both have Samsung now and mine has hit concrete plenty of times. I'm writing this post on it still.

On the other hand, with Apple the 18 year old hipsters at Starbucks downing overpriced corporate coffee with their identical "I'm different" hairdos will think you're cool. Apple IS the official brand of corporate sponsored cookie cutter wannabe counter-culture.

I sure hope they never switch to Android because then I'll have to install Ubuntu on my phone so they won't think I'm one of "them", a "I'm unique because I buy the same brand as all the other unique people" drone and keep inviting me to poetry readings.

trevesty 04-04-2012 01:07 AM

I find it interesting that one of the senior hardware developers of the Nexus line of phones, and also a senior engineer at Google, uses an iPhone as his personal phone and mocks the planning Androids go through. To put it simply, most Android phones and the OS are thought up and "reviewed" by pretty much sorority girls in marketing, whereas at Apple, they're reviewed by fellow engineers and developers - every single millimeter.

As a former Android junkie and current iPhone user(coincidentally, converted by the aforementioned engineer).......

No - just no... in reply to the OP.

Dropped mine plenty of times and never had a problem from it. But always had cases or some kind of cover. Only problem ever was a sticky home button after a year of hard use.

I wouldn't bet on that.

Do you have the older one? The Iphone 4 don't break easily. I've dropped mine many times including once from the stairs. I was sure it would be broken...but nothing, not a scratch.

yup. that's the way. if someone doesnt have a case it deserves to break based on the rule of stupidity.
