I know I never abused it and did well for a while with it. On the flip side it is often affiliates who are abused. If I send 100 free joins to a regular program but none appear to convert to paid (at least in my affiliate stats anyway) what are the chances that the sponsor isn't trying to do something with those 100 emails without giving me any revenue for them?
Each level of verification or conversion requirements also adds another potential place to implement a shave (e.g. 15% on the email verification, 15% on the free to paid conversion, 15% on the rebills = 45% total shave). What was nice about Chaturbate's program was that all I had to watch was the amount of uniques I was sending and the conversions per free. If something changed I would notice it immediately by looking at the numbers. I could easily register a free join to test for a shave.
