Do you care if businesses lie?

I noticed fake nics and BS offers on here yet some people still use these businesses.

Do you care of a business lies or offers BS offers to suck people in?

What about the fake nics on here to try and act like real customers, do you care about companies that do this?

porno jew 04-01-2012 02:55 PM

proof of fake nicks that act like real customers or ban.

Hi I would like a custom offer on 50 times your Vantage 2u plan.

I have a big project coming up.I feel that using Sensualwriter isn't good enough for me anymore.

thread backfire.

Of course. Especially if they lie to me. Once they do it once that barrier is down and the chances are they will do it again. Who needs that? This is where I think many in the industry go wrong. Same with these sponsors who like to keep the affiliate programs they own a secret. Use a little common sense. They aren't keeping it a secret because they are good people who are sure they will honestly do business with you and plan to keep it that way in the future. Take it for what it is. A sign.

People say "Oh I don't care I just send to whoever makes me the most per impression". That's fine I guess but you're a fool if you rely on such a company for long term business. Sooner or later they will screw you too. It's just a matter of time. Look at Media Revenue. If you've been in this business for a while and you haven't seen the pattern by now then I don't know what to tell you. Don't forget to also figure in that the more people accept the crappy stuff the more common it will become so the net long term effect will be worse and worse terms for you. This has clearly happened for adult affiliates.

But I'm not the pope here. You all can do what you like. All I'm saying is to give it some thought. :)

Three dollars is far too much for hosting.

ottopottomouse 04-01-2012 03:19 PM

lots of forums have a sales post followed by several really obvious fake customers saying they love the product. puts me off instantly.

B.Barnato 04-01-2012 03:33 PM

Thanks for the quick setup and best price . DWHS is the best host I've ever been with.

garce 04-01-2012 03:41 PM

Of course I care. It doesn't make a difference, though.

I can sit here and care my life away 24 hours a day. It doesn't matter.

If they don't care - you shouldn't care.

pornmasta 04-01-2012 04:41 PM

I may drop a potentially very lucrative deal because one of the parties has only an average level of honesty. If I'm going to be closely associated with someone I want absolute honesty.

I spotted that fake review as well, at first I thought it was just a random affiliate, but then it become obvious it was someone with closer involvement. Judging by the title, it looked like it was aimed to rank in Google for relevant search terms

Businesses and truth have nothing to do with each other ...

CurrentlySober 04-02-2012 04:45 AM

I automatically assume that whomever it is, is going to lie... (Initially)

Unless I have prior, personal experience if them... Adult or mainstream? Makes NO difference...

Then that way, if they DONT lie, and they DO what they promise... Fair play - But I have protected myself....

If they DO lie, and DONT do what they promised? I lose NOTHING...

Biz tip of the day guys - TRUST NO ONE STRAIGHT AWAY...

Barry-xlovecam 04-02-2012 07:27 AM

One thing I have learned over the years in business -- Don't make promises that you can't deliver on and don't misrepresent what you can deliver.

There is a big difference between misrepresentation and lack of reasonable performance in a business agreement -- understand the difference.

People don't give a shit. Take DJthekid for example. Lied for months to dozens of webmasters here while defending his credit card banging boss.
Now a few years later exactly happened what i predicted. That little piece of rotten shit will find another job as a dumb ass sales rep and people will continue to do business with him like nothing happened.

Tom_PM 04-02-2012 07:44 AM

I recently recommended a company in a thread they posted because I've used them for a decade with good service. To put it simply it was a real recommend from a real customer.

The best way to find honest people is to be honest yourself. You have to know what it looks like.

Professor12 04-02-2012 08:37 AM

I think it depends on the lie they are telling you. If it means that your are losing out on a ton of money maybe i would care, But if it was my own stupid fault that i dint read the terms and conditions that they have then nope. Everyone is trying to make a living just depends how par they take it.

CyberHustler 04-02-2012 09:23 AM

Outright lying is fucked up... creating Shills is no better IMHO. If you have to pay somebody or go undercover to get a good review, fuck outta here...

V_RocKs 04-02-2012 04:09 PM

I think you making this thread is pretty fucked up actually.

Yes - There are fake nicks involved
Yes - Those fake nicks are spamming boards with their hosting affiliate ID.

NO! - The hosting company has nothing to do with it and they have bitched this person out about the professional level their posts must have to be able to continue to receive credit for their signups.

Making a thread that insinuates they are using fake nicks to drive up sales should have to come with proof... Last time I checked that was one of the rules of GFY.

CyberHustler 04-02-2012 04:11 PM

Who this thread directed at?

If I accused someone then I would say who and who. I just think there has been some obvious BS around here. If you want lie about your unlimited offers and 100% uptime or exclusive content and 1 week turn arounds then it's my bad for falling for obvious bs... but fake people to make your business look good on GFY, I think that's pathetic and hopefully this isn't happening

I can't say 100% someone did do this, but I have serious doubts about some of the reply's on here.

I wouldn't even ask a friend or customer to say anything. They can say something on their own if they want.

And hint... if the affiliate code is "2" yet this person just tried the company for the first time then you do the math.

travs 04-02-2012 08:21 PM

trust and money are alike...you shouldn't give them away easily

I've found that liars lie.

Liars lie about the small things and the big things. The woman who was honest with me about 25 cents was also honest about finding another man attractive. If I can't trust you in the little things, I would be a fool to trust you in the big things.

JR, I hope you read this.

And hint... if the affiliate code is "2" yet this person just tried the company for the first time then you do the math.

And if you did any kind of investigating you would find that this affiliate has been spamming boards on their own. Also you would find that there are several different affiliate programs running for this company where old ones are not folded into new ones as they test them all concurrently. So it is not odd that the most spamming affiliate of all time would also be one of the highest producers for the company. And therefore this affiliate might be one of the first asked if they want to try out the new affiliate program to see if the reporting features is more to their liking.

As I said before, this affiliate was asked not to spam so damn much and to work on the content of their posts.

And for the record, I am not an employee of the company, nor am I that particular affiliate.
