What do you do when you get email threats that someone is gonna take over your domain because they own the trademark?

who threatened you? and second thought is do they really have a trademark or are they just trying to scare you.

Hire a good trademark lawyer. That is what I did. :thumbsup

There are a number of lawyers around who specialize in domain law. If it's worth fighting for, hire someone who knows domains, not just trademarks.

who is trying to take your domain name? whats the trademark ?

I dont think he has a trade mark, i run a BBS with alot of hostile kids that post there.. some of them may not like the way how im moderating things there and keeping it legal. So there making threats that they have already purchased a trademark in my name and there gonna take my TGP down.

What if i move regitars off shores or somthing? Would that protect my in anyway? I'd radther work this out without any money or any more threat emails involved.

Trademarks can be a sticky issue. It just depends on who owns the trademark. If you haven't registered it and they have, you might be screwed.

If you had the site online before they registered the trademark let em try to take it from you LOL

You have a 99% chance of winning *IF* it ever went to court.

Don't take chances if its a significant site domain. Get an attorney right away who specializes in intellectual property law. There are several good firms out there that are adult friendly.

We use Ruden McClosky Smith Schuster & Russell which is the largest law firm in South Florida.

Is your name tom?

If it is and the trademark registered after you registered the domain you are 100% clear.

Anything else, see a lawyer because trademarks are very odd.
