Chaturbate so are you going leak free on April 10th or not?

You will be going revshare only for most people. Something was mentioned about getting rid of ads to uncredited sponsors and popups on the first click. Which really doesn't mean much since technically you could just do it on the second click instead.

I want to know if you are going to go fully leak free then or not. If not leak free at least substantially so. I just need to know if I should bother putting up new ads on my new projects or not. Thank you.

porno jew 03-31-2012 10:59 AM

don't use them then. the end.

porno jew 03-31-2012 11:01 AM

even with their leaks they make more money than some cam sponsors who are leak free. does it make sense to go drop a sponsor that is making you money because of a banner ad? and go with one that makes no money at all?

I have my reasoning for doings things a certain way. Usually they work out well (I get scammed a lot less than the average webmaster) for me but sometimes they don't. In this case I simply want to know what their plans are so I can make plans of my own. I don't want to put up a lot of promo material and spend a lot of time on pushing them if I'm unsure of how they will convert.

Hey signupdamnit, I have a question for you.

You are asking Chaturbate to drop banners and leaks, fine. They are in place because it makes money for them, right? With that in mind, what is your guarantee to them that they will make more money with you? You are telling them to change their business practices on your say-so alone. Do you have stats and proof that you can generate alot of money for them?

I'm not trying to come off as confrontational, sorry if I same like it. I see alot of affiliates and others grand-standing on GFY bitching about lack of sales who seem to want to blame everyone else (like the billing processor - lol!) instead of themselves for their own weak sales figures.

Mark, I'm not asking them to do anything. I'm asking them a question at this point. I personally probably won't send them traffic if they don't remove some of the leaks because there are plenty of other options paying 20% with less leaks. That's just my choice. I know what my traffic was making before under the old system as well. I sent them quite a bit under the old system because I liked the results. At most I might watch a week or two and see what becomes of it. But with the leaks I'm not holding my breath. Leaks mean the sponsor has less incentive to try to force the sale for which I get credit on and I've learned that in most cases more money is made by sending elsewhere, small leaks aside.

signupdamnit 04-10-2012 02:43 PM

And also mark the traffic I was sending them was 1:80 free tier one signups and I was sending thousands a day. It's good quality traffic with a certain value. There's no shortage of places to send it without games.

jigg 04-10-2012 09:49 PM

no reason to have traffic leaks on pages where affiliates send traffic to. If they can't make payouts work then tier the affiliate payouts, or cap the leads and review them for quality.

I see some programs on here doing the same thing, blaming lack of sales on piracy, tubes, etc instead of looking at their own program, tours, pricing options, and content :).

AllAboutCams 04-10-2012 10:06 PM

They may have leaks but they still send check and make money from them yes.

That may be true, but you aren't really answering the question. What makes your traffic worth more than the revenue they make from those "leaks"?

Again, not slamming you. I am just trying to understand the business case for a website to drop the revenue it makes from providing ad space (which if sold by cpm, is known and quantifiable) vs an affiliate such as yourself who's potential revenue can only be described as "good" and of "certain value" without any solid numbers.

And don't forget, your traffic costs them money too by way of affiliate commissions, and perhaps even more important, the income they may be making from ads on their site is a fixed amount, and they have an agreement in place, and may even be pre paid, vs an affiliate who could choose at any time to stop sending them traffic and thus affecting their income.

It really seems to me that some affiliates can demand too much sometimes without considering other factors.

Isn't the guy talking about
Pay per Free and now Revshare.

I understand the "leaks" for Pay Per Free, but on 20% Revshare?

CIVMatt 04-11-2012 07:02 AM

Everyone has leaks now, I push them and I make great money.

It's trivial to add in a few variables to disable the showing of the third party ads when the visitor is sent from an affiliate link. They don't have to remove all the ads on their site as you are assuming. However they may not want to because getting affiliates to send you traffic for free and then monetizing it is one of the modern scams used by some affiliate programs. But for what it's worth $300 to some coder from Russia or the Philippines would be all it would take to fix this.

When I send traffic somewhere I expect the sponsor to try to convert the traffic to a product which gives me my cut. To begin to allow otherwise opens the door for a clever sponsor to take advantage of the loopholes in order to collect my traffic for free and to then sell other products which I get nothing for. It soon becomes a bad deal for me. Chaturbate has already shown they have no problem changing the terms of their program so who is to say that one popunder now may not become three next month? On revshare the long term relationship with the sponsor is a big deal. On PPS or PPF it is not so much so.

Bottom line is that they are free to do as they like and I am free to do as I like. But in my opinion revshare with a bunch of uncredited ads is not "revshare" at all rather a borderline "scam" on affiliates. I don't sweat the little stuff but when we're talking about popunder and huge prominent ads all over the place then it becomes an issue.

This is all for nothing now because I have decided to pull everything for them anyway. I did some reading on WEGcash and combined with the way this was handled I am seeking out more reliable partners.

I used to as well on the $1 pay-per-free but they are no longer doing that and have went (what they call) revshare only.

It's an idea but there are already competitors out there as well as brokers paying $5 cpm for webcam traffic. I should have researched a little more thoroughly than I did and went with my gut http://www.gaydemon.biz/showthread.p...e-bye-WEG-Cash but since I did pay-per-free I haven't lost anything this time. Just another example of history repeating itself in the world of adult. No big deal.

adultmobile 04-11-2012 02:28 PM

Chaturbate people are quick to adapt, they changed and updated their site time to time, they started as clone of cam4/camfuze (and these have adverts = leaks, I advertised on cam4 myself and that's expensive), had no private or groups, and advertised lots of cam sites. Then later chatur added private and groups much likely myfreecams - and also they changed policy not to advertise other cam sites and pity they said I can't advertise my cam site there. And had the $1 pay per free offer which seems it was a success, I like their idea and our program is a little like that too. Then yes they stop the $1 per free and leave revshare only - so part of site that is designed for $1 per free it may look not anymore in line with rev share only. But I believe chaturbate people will further update and change, including reading gfy and emails they get.
Still who liked $1 per free may not like revshare at all even without leaks, and look elsewhere, this is good for program like ours or crakcash/mfc, we got some ex-chaturbate affiliates who previously just tried and said chaturbate made more to them (this for sure), but now some are back and sending all their traffic there as no more chaturbate $1's offer. But some wanted also those xml and iframing tools that we (or crakcash) have not, also chaturbate include (gay)man and man+girl couple accounts which tubecamgirl or mfc have not, so who was into (gay)man or couples for pay per free I don't know where they send now?

Just saw this- Note this thread was started during the phoenix forum. You could have e-mailed me or sent me a ICQ :/

Anyway, at this time we are only removing ads from firsts clicks. Chaturbate gives away over $11,000(usd) to broadcasters and the site itself is genuinely 100% free to join. Chaturbate needs the ads to help sustain a free model. We also do sell ad space....

As for your account going from Pay Per Free to Revshare. E-mail me your username so i can review your account. Since the announcement we had lots of e-mails asking for consideration to be invited and many were approved. shirley AT chaturbate DOT com

No, you're not. They are still there on first click. Misleading much?

I push leaks and make everyone else good money. Nothing wrong with that.
