Blogging tip of the day: Don't bother writing a lot of text

I know i will get shit for telling this and people will call me an idiot. I don't care. I've tested it and the results clearly show Google doesn't give a shit about my well written, quality text blogs with 300 words per entry. Total waste of time and money.

All my other blogs with 2 lines of text get better and more SE hits.

So there you go :thumbsup

bns666 03-29-2012 03:05 AM

noticed that years ago :)

AdultKing 03-29-2012 03:30 AM

What works today may not work tomorrow. Google has clearly signaled it's intentions about thin content, so be aware that your experiences could shift overnight.

Yeah so what should i do? Build shitload of sites that don't work now because they MIGHT work in the future?

I was here.

100% agreed with OP

I'm glad you think its that way at the turn point (and there is always a turn porn with Mr.G) more traffic for us.

xholly 03-29-2012 03:51 AM

I thought google would have different criteria for adult sites?

That may work for index page, but if you have well written text with 300+ words etc and than comments on that post, the post(s) will rank higher during time and you will get more traffic. I have been blogging on same blogs for over 5 years now i know the difference :) anyways that's just my experience!

porno jew 03-29-2012 05:07 AM

yes keyword research is key.

xxxbusiness 03-29-2012 05:20 AM

less or more text doesn't match matter, I even have some blogs without text and they're running good. All depends how, how many and from where you get in links

I agree with you, every time I have made a blog with long well written posts...they end up not doing nearly as good traffic wise as my ones that I just use 100 words/per post.

Seems like every day SEO people are saying it's the end of the world for this content and that content. I just do my thing and don't worry about seo crap except for keyword research like porno jew said. If for some reason google shits on my sites in the future, I will deal with it then instead of pulling my hair out now doing shit that might or might not work for the future.

Nicky 03-29-2012 06:15 AM

For PORN blogs this is somewhat true.

Test again in three to six months. Google is telling you that what works today won't work tomorrow in terms of SEO tricks. They are buying companies that have text interpretation technology, so expect them to get better at finding well written text.

This prolly doesnt work for adult, and I dont profess to know shit about text length for adult, but google loves my mainstream sites, all of which range from pr5 to pr8 and my articles range from even a hundred words or so to 1000+ .

basically its your content and brevity when talking about the content. Just write content that is concise and to the point, AND uses proper, contemporary writing style.

Your writer or yourself probably isnt smarter than the team of PHDs who parse your text.

Write your articles like you would give a public speech / debate, NOT like a TV advertisement. Repeating yourself just looks like keyword stuffing.

my 2 cents.

After you complete the requisite keyword research, it's best to just follow your heart. :2 cents:

Just don't do blackhat bs or lots of backlinks/day or something similar and temporary bs that would raise some flags and you'll be fine. :winkwink:

As far as post length goes, smaller one's work great for me since I'm not writing some in-depth mainstream article. I make it longer than 'Hot girls fucking each other", but I don't go overboard spending an hour on a post like some people..
It's a game of getting the surfer to find and get interested in your blog then finding a way to get them to click the gallery or banner to buy before 'finishing'. That's all it is... :2 cents:

cooldude7 03-29-2012 10:30 AM

hmm thats why tubes getting much traffic

only 1-2 lines description or title

That's not a secret at all actually. Furthermore, the short descs are better to spin (synonymize).

Fat Panda 03-29-2012 10:45 AM

I do about 100 words. 300 words and you just can't help but sound spammy and stuff keywords.

I never said it was a secret?
People who run blog networds probably knew this for a long time already.
It's just so different than what many people will tell you. That's what i meant with i probably will get shit for saying this.

femdomdestiny 03-29-2012 01:09 PM

Google just dropped my site again even with this tactics. So I really don't have a fucking clue what I should do.

Your frustration is normal, but if you expect to post great organic content and indexed, doesn't naturally happen 100% of the time. Meaning, you need a better game plan. Although I am in mainstream this method "might" work for porn as 80% of the words/phrases I target make the first page SERPS. 40% (eventually) make it in the top 4 and 7% make it number 1.

WTS, be reasonable on the phrase you're targeting. Great content at first is important, but not as much as you think in the first couple months. Before I even target a specific keyword/phrase you have to have it setup to look natural.

Meaning, after you dropped the blog post you first set up the BL's (resource only) in the same subject of that phrase/content. So when you do drop the post you immediately start to systematically BL the post. Depending on the BL format/site you then start to add replies to the BL posts using a proxy. :winkwink:

Back in the day people called me an idiot as I grabbed 1000's twitter accounts in Specific niches. I also got TweetAdder and spent months setting up 100 accounts with a minimum of 2000 followers per account and takes about an hour per account.

There are many other types accounts like this, but I've already given generous details. Anyway, the point is you can blog your fingers to the bone, but once you drop that post it needs to be followed up from solid organic looking BL traffic sources as if it was a hot topic. You should have this in place before you even built a blog or posted because pinging a blog post is so 2008.

All the tools/knowledge have been posted here many of times, but if you're trying to make money from blogging you need to master these four basic tools. Xrumer, CyberSEO, Tweetadder, and Dragon. The bad news, takes years to learn on your own and how to setup the method correctly. Meaning, keyphrase/words blogs/post are a luxury and actually the (party) fun part, but sadly it's less the 10% of the overall game plan.

Now for the people in MS, always have at least 2 adsense accounts. You have your first account on your rock solid older high PR sites. NEVER, publish on a new blog/site with your primary adsense account. There is an exception to the rule, my point. At times, posts on a new blogs rock the SERPS. You CAN have two adsense accounts per-blog and when you drop your primary on that post will insure a better CPC earning for the primary.

In short, Franck there are people who make a living sniping SE's with blog posts just to drop their primaries all day long on new blogs and why you're not seeing anything significant. <insert beep beep noise as I zip past Franck waving>

Excellent post. Thanks.
