US soccer team fails to qualify for the Olympics

amazing, how many kids in the US play soccer? millions - and still US soccer sucks. Canada even worse.

not to sound like darkjedi but you have african countries where kids run around in diapers being chased by flies until they're 20 kicking a monkey skull with bare feet around a field who qualify for the Olympics.

Canada is still in it btw. You are going to be pretty good. Half of your team is from former Yugoslavia and Africa.

True. A better sport would be to wrap them all up in pads and gay protection, then rather than actually running about for 90 minutes, just let them push each other about for 2 minutes then have a little break.

Are you actually suggesting padding in hockey is gay? So cute when people who have never played hockey talk about it.

Who mentioned hockey?

AFAIK, hockey is just canadians who like fighting having a bit of a skate around then punching each other anyway. Don't really see the sport aspect to it.

Deej 03-28-2012 02:42 PM

Hockey can be hardcore... but its boring as shit! to watch...

Who the fucks wants to see a 2-1 score after 2 hours or skating and brawling.

Why are americans so obsessed with high scores??? Jesus lol there is so much more to sports. I'm laughing my ass off that you would think hockey or soccer is boring but american football not. Football is the worst shit ever.

Bryan G 03-28-2012 03:07 PM

And further more if 3 goals are scored in hockey (3 points) or 3 touchdowns (22points) its still the same shit. So if in hockey or soccer if a goal was worth 7 points you would be interested???? Lol

Try thinking out af the american perfect world...
Kicking a monkey skull with bare feet is what make them get a skill american kids don't get.

Not just that. Best Argentinian and Brazilian players(they fill teams all over europe), grow up playing barefoot soccer on the street with some old soccer balls.

American kids start playing soccer at two, wearing the best cleats, kneepads, elbowpads and the whole shit. They don't feel soccer spirit. They will never do.

Best american soccer player ever?
Landon Donovan. He grew up playing barefoot soccer in the streets with mexicans, and africans, and all kind of shit.

SmutHammer 03-28-2012 03:14 PM

Does anyone really consider soccer a sport?

lucas131 03-28-2012 03:14 PM

Most people in the USA like, know, are interested in soccer. They keep wonder why they weren't taught the passion for the best, biggest and most beautifuk sport in the world.

American kids have iPods and Game Boys. That pretty much sums it up.

Soccer has to be one of the cheapest team sports there is. All you need is a ball, and you don't even need that. Living in a country with "nothing to do" means a lot of ball kicking.

Ummm maybe because its americans that usual complain about a score not being high enough to keep their interest. What's so interesting about it? Its usually true. Just look at this thread.

Lol, i'm ok with american footbal despite it's some rugby for pussies kinda sport.

I like to watch it.
The only thing i can't still understand is why do they call ot footbal if it's played with the hands?

I see one American complaining about low scores.

The biggest sport in America over the last 100+ years has been baseball.

The Super Bowl is the biggest game in the world. Baseball has been America's biggest sport for over 100 years (although today it may not be number one, it is still in the top three.) Baseball is a low-scoring sport. You said Americans are obsessed with high scores, evidenced by this very thread, where only one person mentioned anything about low scores.

What does it have to do with anything? Lol you said baseball was the most popular sport. I beg to differ when you look at the USA tv ratings for the world series vs the super bowl. Also the super bowl is far from the biggest game in the world. The world cup final draws many more viewer World wide. Granted the World Cup final is only every 4 years.

More kids in the US and Canada play soccer than any other organized sport. Why? Because their parents are products of liberal indoctrination their entire lives - taught that their children should be raised to believe that they are each special unique snowflakes, that winning doesn't really matter. Put your kids on a soccer field with 20 others, at most a couple goals are scored, so your kid's a complete klutz, if he feels bad that he never scores a goal you buy him a new video game and console him/her ''you haven't scored a goal this entire season Josh but neither have 18 other boys on the field with you!" Kids blend in on a soccer field.

Put that kid on a baseball diamond and he goes to bat alone in front of a hundred people watching him. He strikes out 4 times without even making contact. A fly ball is hit directly to your kid picking his nose in the outfield, your kid doesn't even come close to catching it. It's hard for Mom to tell her kid he's a wonderful unique snowflake when he's got objective people in the stands calling him a failure.

Kids in the US and Canada play soccer but those that watch and follow sports are watching the NBA, NFL and NHL. They play soccer because Mom doesn't want them to get hurt, physically or emotionally.

Wait a minute. So in my statement you claim the Super Bowl because it gets more viewers than any single game of baseball, but in the second statement you claim the Super Bowl isn't really the biggest because the World Cup has it squashed over many, many, many games?

LOL.

In 2012, the Super Bowl had 111 million global viewers (which includes massive parties, people don't have baseball parties.) In 2011, 116 million people watched the World Series.

I said boring to watch...

not to play. I used to roller hockey and LOVED soccer. PLayed basketball and baseball. Never touched Football. I watch the super bowl, thats it.

I hate most sports equally... to watch. Participating in them can be fun as shit.

Check your assumptions at the door :thumbsup

You don't know much about hockey clearly. If a game ends in a tie it goes to a shoot out to decide a winner. I cannot remember the last time i heard about a scoreless tie in regulation.
