White House asks the media to scrub stories on Malia's Mexico trip
The White House put the word out to remove stories on the net about Malia being on vacation with 12 friends and 25 Secret Service agents in Mexico for Spring Break. Most complied and by last night there wasn't much out there. The fact that she was not too far from the earthquake today did seem to bring the story out again. I guess we can call that divine intervention! :winkwink:
Your tax dollars are hard at work footing the bill for the President's daughter, 12 of her friends and 25 Secret Service agents in Mexico so a 13 year old can go on a foreign vacation for Spring Break. Quote:

If they can get this wiped from the media, imagine what they can do with important news.
I read that earlier today, and was thinking about the logistics involved in letting Obama's kid go to Mexico... Should have sent her to New Mexico and told her to pretend. |

Yes, she is or was in Oaxaca, Mexico, you make too much scandal for this
The story in spanish is here: http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/notas/836662.html |
Why shouldnt she go where she likes?
I doubt being "First Daughter" is as great as it sounds at first. |
EXACTLY!! Anyone who becomes President should be forced to have their children confined to the White House and never be able to go on vacation or do any child related activity that costs tax payer money.
We already have such a good crop of presidential candidates, the prospect of ruining their kids childhood as part of the deal should cause even more wonderful people to run. |
Relax, kids just like to have a little innocent fun on Spring Break...

The government controlling the media? I refuse to believe that.

You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, but I could see why they'd want to pull that story. They don't want an armed gang of kidnappers to show up.

if its not business we shouldnt pay for it. i dont care whos daughter it is, if mine wants to go to disney i gotta pay. |
It's hard to hold up the lie of looking out for the little guy when you're living like a king

I'm no fan of Obama but it's nobody's business where he sends his kids for the holidays.
On the other hand, I certainly would not send my daughters to a spring break trip in Mexico, and with the US economy still in the tank, they maybe should have thought of a US destination that could have used the windfall of a 50 people entourage spending money for a week there. :2 cents: |
Where was the outcry when the Bush girls were constantly fucking partying on our dime? At least this kid isn't out underage drinking like those little whores did.

Perhaps she should get a weekend job in Starbucks to pay for it - Except that it would cost a fortune to protect her while she was there. Of course there is an obligation for the public purse to pay for the protection of the presidents family. The daughter should not suffer at all (or as little as possible) because of who her father is. |

And if she's gone with just her friends and been kidnapped you'd be whining your tits off at she's the presidents daughter, where was the security?!?!
|
Every president has done trips and vacations and we all know it. Gotta file this on the who really cares pile.
I'll feel the same whenever a republican finds his or her way to the white house with children as well. No difference. Also, non-adult children should be off limits anyway unless mom or dad wants to show them off IMHO. |
oh gosh people, every president and his family travel. the last i knew the Obama family paid for her trip, which is how its always worked. The protection of the secret service is something we as a country extend to our leader(and his family) as a job benefit. a benefit they used to get for life, until GW Bush limited it during his term. The story was pulled for security reasons, probably no conspiracy there either. Twenty five SS agents getting into it with Oaxacan cartel thugs or whatever else probably would end poorly.
At least the president is actually at work, not something we can say for the last guy that took more vacations then most europeans :) |
