People prefer to listen to shit these days.

Popular culture is currently at an all-time low. It is even worse now than in 1990 when people were buying garbage like Milli Vanilli, MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. People are sheep. They will consume whatever is packaged up and served to them by the major recording companies. Things have been progressively going downhill since approximately 1975, except for the odd band like Nirvana or Talking Heads whose talent and originality simply couldn't be denied.

They say people get the government they deserve. That's true. But people also get the culture they deserve. And now they're getting it.

Some kids are growing up today thinking Avril Lavigne is punk.

That's fucked up.

Well you should have been here when the Beatles landed from London and the whole world of music changed overnight.

All the kids started wearing hair over their ears for the first time and the school teachers were flipping out.

The Leave It To Beaver era went bye bye in that year.

The Beatles were the greatest band of the 20th century.

They transformed popular music as we know it. They were experimental before anyone else dared and influenced literally hundreds or performers from the greats to one hit wonders. The diversity and originality of their work is breathtaking.

I don't believe that anyone, after listening to all 13 Beatles albums, could possibly deny this... irrespective of their taste in music. In 500 years, if we haven't destroyed the earth in the meantime, people will still be listening to them.

There will never be anything like them again.
