I lost almost $1,000 in craps in about 30 minutes and over $600 in blackjack in about 10.

feels pretty shitty to lose that much, but in order to make money, you have to spend money :winkwink: first rule of gambling is NEVER spend more than you can afford to lose :2 cents:

normally on the weekends I spend about $100 or so on drinks which is cheap because I get hooked up by the bartenders I know around where I live. However, I've dropped a few hundred before in places like Vegas, LA and NOLA... next morning not only do I feel like shit, but Im a bit mad that I spent that much on booze

My idiot "professional gambler" brother loses about $5k a month gambling, with approximately $5k income to his name. Now he's in debt up to his eyeballs with cash advance establishments, owes money to everyone he knows, in arrears with the IRS, can't pay child support, had all his bank accounts shut down, is about to get locked up for writing bad checks, and is about to have his vehicle repo'd... I'm curious to see how he gambles his way out of this. :)

I once saw a guy win $10K on craps then turn around and lose it all on roulette. I don't know what the bet he made on craps was, but I guess it was one that was a big longshot. He hit it and wins $10K. He takes the money, walks over to the roulette table and puts it all on black. The ball lands on red and he loses it.

He looked like he was going to cry.

Nicky 03-19-2012 05:43 PM

Has happened more than once. Never fun but you win some you lose some It's all a game to me to quote Lemmy.

fuzebox 03-19-2012 05:51 PM

All the time. :1orglaugh

Spunky 03-19-2012 05:56 PM

That's why they call it gambling.my buddy lost 100k in slots and won a few nice pots along the way but eventually lost that too

mayabong 03-19-2012 05:58 PM

most I've ever lost was 200 bucks on roulette. Can't imagine losing more, then again I'm not a rich guy. lol

lucas131 03-19-2012 06:29 PM

some sad stories here and on tv, but you must always know how much you can burn :)

lucas131 03-19-2012 06:48 PM

it is still a game. sometime i almost piss myself, it is good spent money

Phoenix 03-19-2012 07:36 PM

losses at gambling?
i dont gamble much...i am actually up on my casino gambling outings.
i have a simple rule...if i win 100...i walk away and spend that 100 on booze or some clothing.
Can i afford to lose more? maybe...but why would i want to?

im cheap as hell :)

RyuLion 03-19-2012 07:38 PM

Yeap, but earn it back..

campimp 03-19-2012 09:00 PM

globofun 03-19-2012 09:02 PM

sizz 03-19-2012 10:25 PM

Had a chargeback once and my cogs was 600. Its not much material to me but Im a jew and it was like losing a ... yea. Never straight up "lost" it.

The Ghost 03-19-2012 10:38 PM

$600? Plenty of times :)

Don't gamble anything more than you're willing to lose. :2 cents:

Seeing grown men act like babies at casinos, throwing fits over bad beats or cause they lose more than they can afford is sad. Very very sad.

bloggerz 03-19-2012 10:49 PM

plenty of times, but all that matters is if I had a good time :)

leg4 03-19-2012 11:08 PM

I lost $5100 cash once.... Once.

Tsharp23 03-19-2012 11:41 PM

Yup, easy. I don't really fret over it, whats done is done... only thing left to do is win it back!

anexsia 03-20-2012 12:02 AM

I lost $600 in a drug deal

mamaliga 03-20-2012 12:43 AM

i lost my university fee in a poker game once. Felt like shit couple of days.

Jel 03-20-2012 01:54 AM

$6,400 in 90 minutes on a football match is my worst loss. Too many $600+ bets to count. As said, never bet more than you can afford to lose, and you'll be fine.

Dumbest bet I ever had was many years ago when drunk and stuck the 2 weeks rent I had in my pocket on a horse. Luckily it pissed the race at 4/1 (2f), but without question the most stupid bet I've ever placed.

CaptainWolfy 03-20-2012 06:09 AM

how about 3k in under an hour? I went outside to buy me new shirt (took my gf) and she relieved me for 3k for clothes :D lolz

Don't really gamble but I lost $4,800 in January and then $12,000 a few weeks later. :Oh crap

Choopa Phil 03-20-2012 07:12 AM

Gambling gives me anxiety.

sorry to hear about your brother.

I have heard more stories like these than good ones when it comes to gambling unfortunately. I used to spend a fair amount of time in a poker room a number of years back, i scraped by making enough to keep a modest bank roll but just hearing so many bad stories about people losing everything put me off it completely, put my money into a house instead...

Chris 03-20-2012 07:23 AM

every year in vegas lol
