stupid much? the first game in NBA history played in Maple Leaf Gardens between the New York Knicks and the Toronto Huskies.

Well MLB is without any question the top baseball league in the world so the winner of that is the 'world champion' team.
They have a separate baseball world cup that Japan basically dominates but even the best players from the Japanese national team play for MLB teams.

If they start calling major league soccer a world championship, then yeah, that would be stupid.
