Gary Hart for President
 

I think I heard it mentioned the other day that Gary Hart was putting out feelers for another run for the Presidency. Has any one else heard anything along these lines and if so who would like to see him throw his hat in the ring?

Joe Biden would be a very good candidate. He's in the know being on the Foreign Relations Committe, and not too liberal.

If I recall correctly he is somewhat tainted just as is Gary Hart. Gary Hart had the girlfriend scandal and I think when Biden ran before he got slammed for plagiarism and lying about his grades or degree or something along those lines. What do you recall about that?

I hadn't heard anything like that. If it's true that sucks because I like him. Seems like a straight shooter. Did you happen to catch his speech on c-span the other day about N. Korea? Very interesting....

I personally like Biden but yes there was a scandal the last time around and as I recall he withdrew his hat from the ring as did Gary Hart. I liked Hart as a Senator and would have voted for him if he would have been nominated, girlfriend or no girlfriend. He has been out of the publics eye for such a long period and times have changed so I don't think the old issue of a girlfriend would be a problem now, but because he has been out of the publics eye for so long I seriously doubt that he will get enough postitive feedback to encourage him to throw his hat in the ring.

I liked Gary Hart. Times have changed I think alot since then, Donna Rice at the time was a hot piece of ass, if it happened now he'd get lots of votes just for banging a hot model.

He also had some other 'character' flaws that the media blew way out of proportion. He had changed his name from Hartpence to Hart.........ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo........ ....what deception the media wrung its hands ............then somebody tracked down his signature from years and years ago...............Gary Hart had changed the way he signs his name .............. more deception.............

He should give it a shot again.

I saw Gary Hart on TV about a month ago. The guy looks like a living corpse.

i don't remember the Biden thing clearly.........i think it was something like Hart's problem......media and GOP went digging to find 'character' flaws and they came up with I believe a speech or something he published that was largely plagiarized.

there are no people without 'character' flaws, it's part of being human. The media blows them out of proportion, groundswell starts, candidate removes himself, it's stupid. All that matters is whether the guy at this point in time is going to be a good president. I could give a shit if 25 years ago in college some candidate cheated on an exam or did coke or if he's a good husband and father. It would be nice if they were all superheros without any chinks on their records but that's not reality.

Reagan colored his hair orange, Hart was skewered for the same type of vanity i.e changing his name and signature. The sad thing is that both parties play to the dumbest common denominator. Once the media makes a big deal about something, regardless how innocuous it is, they beat it to death until the moronic public is brainwashed.

Funny thing is, Donna Rice is now an anti-porn advocate.

Gary Harts son is a good friend of mine and I can tell you that for sure there is now way his dad is thinking about running for President.

We joke about this sort of thing all the time but not going to happen.

Now maybe John Hart might run one day you just never know :winkwink:
