Question...

Can the effects of your rampant red meat eating behavior be reversed if you stop and eat more vegetables?

You're going to be laying in a bed rotting anyway, but it could happen in your 50's or much much later.

not going to debate anything but I do like to post in these threads.

The truth is, according to a few books ive read that, if we actually had depended on men to provide food from "killing" throughout our history we would have died. While men were hunting women gathered seeds and started the first gardens and actually lead to our survival. Men more often than not came home without a deer, as population grew this worsened...This is evident as recent as native Americans... women were the seed gatherers, its been like this historically for eternity.

Again, I know people like to argue but I saw your post and had to drop this tidbit in since its actually how we survived.

This page actually goes into great detail about it, including how important OX were to farming instead of eating during times of draught in history, we wouldve died off long ago if relied on meat alone.

http://www.historyworld.net/wrldhis/...historyid=ab63

Its long been established the reason we survived is because we became farmers.

I have some friends that are so worried about what they eat it consumes them! They worry about it so much and spend all their time working on diets and what to eat/what not to eat...I think they'll die from stress first.

She must suck at cooking then. Turkey taco meat is delicious, same with turkey meat loaf and turkey burgers. You just have to season it right (which is the case with red meat as well). I certainly wouldn't want either of those three day in and day out, but that goes for any type of meat and food.

ColBigBalls 03-13-2012 06:15 PM

If you look hard enough.. Someone.. Somewhere.. Has some form of proof telling you "X" product is bad for you.

What are the credentials of the people who wrote that article besides having a book to sell about why soy is bad for you? Asian cultures old "ate" fermented soy. Why past tense? They eat lots of non fermented and fermented soy. Also the very first article claims that most people think soy is healthy because that's what most mainstream media tell them. Come on. That is just a page with a huge transparent agenda called marketing a book. If you're really worried and an American, don't worry too much. America only consumes 3% of it's soy production as food.

people who obsess over food are boring and annoying as fuck. who cares ...

You want hard facts. Watch a movie called "forks over knives".

It should blow your mind. Decades long studies in Norway and China will make you rethink your diet.

Good movie! :thumbsup

The following image is not from the movie, but is food for thought:

I've cut way back on red meat, and I'm slowly moving back to a vegetarian diet (I was a vegetarian for over 5 years back in my 20's).

Fact: If it tastes good it's bad for you.

DragonsGirls 03-14-2012 03:25 AM

I always get so confused by this topic...

Beef = Red Meat
Fish = White Meat
Chicken Breast = Healthy White Meat
Chicken Thighs = Not So Healthy Dark Meat
Pork = The Other White Meat, But is Really Red Meat

But what about when someone eats cock or pussy, is that red meat, white meat, dark meat...or just fun?

BREAKING NEWS........Doctor's have discovered that more people are dying of OLD AGE.....Time to band OLD AGE

zaggy 03-14-2012 07:21 AM

The red meat you buy at the store today has very little in common with the meat our grandparents ate. A few decades ago, steers were 4 to 5 years old at slaughter, now it's 14 to 16 months.

How do you get a calf from 80 pounds to 1200 pounds in 14 months? Huge quantities of corn (with copious antibiotics because the calf's digestive system can't handle a corn diet), protein supplements and growth hormones.

I'm sure red meat from cows that graze in big open fields without getting injected full of drugs is just fine.

Like the grass fed beef in Argentina

Choopa Phil 03-14-2012 08:18 AM

I eat what I want! I do try to keep red meat to 2-3x a week but that never happens. I dont take any protein supplements anymore so beef is where I make up my calories
