Whites Only - Inside please...
 

So, if I'm doing a load of laundry with no colors in it and want them to come out bright white, but don't want them to come out smelling like Clorox... What's the best way to handle this?

I can't seem to win... Either they smell like bleach, or they aren't white enough.

Wash them twice. Once with bleach & detergent. Then again with fabric softener.

There are some good tips in here. I'll have to try them out. Ok, so here's my next question... For mixing white and black... How do I keep the black parts from tainting the white part, and get the white really clean?

Bleach evaporates and then there's no odor. Let them dry thoroughly and don't use too much bleach.

Depends how you dry them. My favorite is line-drying them, but if you machine dry you can use those anti-static sheets with nice-smelling toxic chemicals (no doubt) - I had this bar-thing I stuck inside the dryer that did the job for more than three months...
