Setting up nameservers... does this make sense?

I setup nameservers for two domains yesterday.
I set one up about 26 hrs ago on a virtual hosting account (a .com).
I set the second one up about 22 hrs ago under the same virtual hosting account (a .net).

Does it make sense that I can access the first one and not the second one?

Yes

Why? Does it have something to do with one being a .com and the other a .net?

No, just a matter of how fast they propagate if they were both set up correctly.

that's what i thought... i just don't see why the one I set up 22 hrs ago would propagate faster than the one I set up 26 hrs ago.

Stupid internet.

Tons of shit to take into account. If these weren't new domains, it's most likely a TTL issue (Time-To-Live)...tells other DNS servers how long to cache for and when to force an update.

Generally when I move nameservers, I set the TTL to 10 minutes 48 hours in advance...makes things a lot quicker and smoother.

they're both new domains.
