Who is the best now for virtual hosting?
 

I already tried webair (used them in 2004-2005 ish) but they want a copy of my drivers license which is out of the question. No credit for being a past customer.

Amerinoc sounds good... but didn't answer live help.


I'm just looking for reasonable uptime, and the ability to get additional IP addresses and assign sets of domains to each address. Was using bluegravity after all these years just for the sake of all the IP addresses but the prices are through the roof for BW usage.

Stay away from Dreamhost and Hostgator...I don't know which one is worse. If you want to host adult content on virtual server I'm sure it's not a good idea...besides I think they all suck! Same shit different name...these servers have downtimes at least 2-3 times a month or simply can't handle traffic of 200 hits a day!!!

Not sure what hosts you have been with but I host over 100 wordpress blogs on 4 virtual accounts and they all do fine. I haven't had any downtime in close to a year.

You probably just didn't notice these hosts over sale like crazy and have crappy networks. It just a fact.

When you start receiving some worthy traffic to your blogs, you will regret it big time.

If you value your business on a cheap commercial host, then you don't value your business. :2 cents:

Very satisfied with Amerinoc and Nakedhosting.

Amerinoc answers support tickets within minutes. I've been with them for over 10 years and I wouldn't think of hosting anywhere else.

I used linode. Some people posted good benchmarks from ChicagoVPS, but I have no experience there. Linode is pretty neat, just doesn't scale well for price/performance.
