Colin Powell for President? Yeh or Ney?
I think the time is upon us to have someone besides another white anglo saxon protestant in the White House.
Colin Powell certainly has the qualifications and character to fill the role. And has proven himself to be a highly effective leader. I'd also like to see a woman as President in the near future too. What do you think? Keep the status quo or time for something new in the oval office? |
I dunno.

Black us president.......hm,problem next century
I don't care if he is a moderate black, I wouldn't vote for a Republican former General in a million years.
donald trump
He would demolish any democratic or republican candidate that challenged him if he decided to run... Neither party has no candidate of his caliber in terms of character, repect and draws so much publicity.
He would get my vote. He has every Keev mentioned and more. Looks like he is running the show now anyways.
Absolutely, he'd have my vote.:thumbsup
Yes
Yeah, I would vote for him in a heartbeat
My only reserve would be about wether he has been tainted by the logic of George w Bush. By the way, Is using 'logic' in the same sentence as 'George w Bush' a oxymoron? Anyone know? |
I'd have to know who's running against him. But I'd vote for Powell. He may just be the first black president.

I would consider voting for Powell ... it would be nice to know where he stands on the issues.
I know he stated before that the country isn't ready for a black president and didn't want to put his family into the trouble,
I still believe he could be the number once candidate for 2008 hope he steps up,, historically generals have been very good presidents |
If he can keep bush from foaming at the mouth he would have my vote
fuck all y'all...I'm voting for Al Sharpton
you need a guy like ross perot or another person from the business community who knows politics. also, they can't be an idiot like bush.
He started good, but Bush , rumsfeld, ashhahahahaha, chaney
turned him into a hawk. So , No. |
will americans vote for a black president?
Although it would be very difficult for many (like me) to ever vote for a republican, considering some of the jokes the democrats are offering, powell would be a powerful candidate. A thousand times better than the rube in the whitehouse now. But its only a theoretical question because the repubs will NEVER allow powell the nomination. In 96 when there were rumors he might run in the primaries, limbaugh et al attacked him like there was no tommorrow.

black power!

Powell is top notch and regardless of his race, I would like to see a strong leader like that in office one day. |
um...i dont think i could see Colin Powell advocating for black people like myself. He is the perfect example that race has nothing to do with one's beliefs. I'm guessing he would start by getting rid of affirmative action (which he has benefited from) and then we'll see what else he has up his sleeve.

Powell would be the best president we've had in a century. Fair honest and knows where enough top level skeletons are hidden to avert any pressure that could skew his views. He obviously doesn't agree with everything the current regime wants. If it were not for Powell we would have blatently given the middle finger to the rest of the world and just bombed Iraq. It's taken a little longer but I think, thanks to him, it will be done and it will be finalized unlike 1991's fiasco that left the fucker in power.
I'd vote for him, but I doubt he'd win due to his blackness.
I'd like to see Rumsfeld run. |
