Anyone from Tennesse? Does it suck there?
So I was watching Wheel of Fortune at the Grand Ole Oprey and all the contestants were totally lame, giving me the impression that Tennesse must totally suck. One guy was wearing a bowtie.
Can anyone confirm the suckiness of this state? And wtf is the Grand Ole Oprey? |
Tennessee is actully a very scenic state. The Opry is in Nashville. I kinda like that town and I am not into country music at all.

If you like rednecks with chew in thier lip 24/7, ignorant-by-choice assholes, heat and humidity compounded with bugs in the summer, Bible-thumpers, tree-huggers who'll be glad to take you hunting, confederate flag bumperstickers and baseball caps that one doesn't take off the top of one's soiled, last-week-I-bathed-honest types, then TN is the place to be.
I'm outta here as soon as I"m finished with college. TN sucks.:thumbsup |

I drove through there once, and had a weird feeling. Something just wasnt right. and half the cars had little tennessee volunteers flags on them.

Who the hell thought up orange and white for a fucking football team?? :eek7 |
Knoxville -- home of the Vols - is not bad at all. Memphis is also a cool place, lots of blues and rock history there... and some ass kicking barbecue... Nashville I've always avoided like the plague for some reason.
The Grand Ole Opry is a tourist trap, just like Dollywood. |
So the Grand Ole Opry has something to do with country music?
*shudders* |
Brrrriiite (translated that is "be all right" in TN speak :) )
|
Yay Tennesse!

Well, I may be moving to Nashville, which I have to say, is an improvement from where I live.
I used to live in Memphis, and I love Memphis, Nashville is ok, one thing I am happy about if I do move there is professional football and hockey! Anyways, Memphis is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Nashville, I will be spending a lot of time in Memphis with family that lives there. |
I'm in W Ky.. about 2 hours from Nashville..
Tam is pretty close to there as well.. Perhaps we should have a redneck webmaster ho-down sometime and have it in the country.. away from the big city life.. :) |
Yup, I am in Western Ky...... and I like it, I know I bitch about it alot, but in reality, I love this place......... it is laid back and a nice place to raise kids if you have them. Tennnessee is also a nice place...... very scenic and lots of things to do. It isn't California or New York, so don't go expecting that...... but it is a very nice place.
I have lived in ALOT of places but this is my home and I love it. Of course you are going to have weirdos and freaks wherever you go...... Not alot of places you can go still these days where people still wave as they drive down the road or when you drive by and they are outside. The rednecks are all over, but that would depend on where you go as well. If you go to a local dive or something, then you better damn well look out, but there are also alot of really nice clubs and spots to hang out as well. |
East Tennessee here. A few miles from the Great Smoky Mountains (yes, it is spelled smoky not smokey). I've lived in a lot of places and I like the mountain views and mild climate in this part of Tennessee. Not to mention :no earthquakes, no floods, no hurricanes, no tornadoes and no blizzards (well, rarely). Lots of forests and waterfalls with purple mountains for scenic backdrop.
No state income tax (so far anyway). |
