Vbulletin support

While updating a newer version of Vbulletin the script stopped working because of error and told me to contact support and not touch anything.

I contact support, explain the problem.

Their reply:

You have an error on your site. You need to fix it.

Great! Thank god i mailed them!

VBull-shit sucks. They were getting worse every day since the first V3 version fiasco (which they fixed pretty fast, gotta admit that) and V4 is plain and absolute crap :2 cents:

I ran a game vbulletin commercial,I dont care much about commercial, user input is very valuable :)
Only thing is I want is to apply hacks without to much hassle

You would do better posting on vbulletin.org about the problem hoping someone will take a minute to help you. From vbulletin official support you cannot expect any advanced technical help, in fact they sometimes themselves lack knowledge of their own product. Also new vbulletin 4 is not the same as in its great past, some excellent and important for this project coders left vBulletin team a while ago... (now they are developing Xenforo btw)
vBulletin Solutions though has much more employed coders now but they are doing more mess than quality work imho...

Its very rude to a paying customer to say you have an error and fix it yourself. What a way to slowly killing your business.I was thinking to buy a vbul license, but due to this post I look at some mentioned here.

Yeah well to their defence it was because of a mod (i don't know 1 vbulletin board that doesn't run mods) so they simple don't answer support question. It's their rules so it's my own fault in the end.

I'm just amazed that even though it was a mod she could at least have given me some steps on what the do but she couldn't be bothered until i mailed a few times saying i'm completely stuck.

I own several licenses with them. 280 bucks each. And this is the support i get.

BladeZ 03-02-2012 01:55 PM

Yeah, Imagine he or she had to type turn off any mods. Thanks for the eye opener.
