I have had no phone for 3 weeks - 2 engineers have been and 'fixed it', just for it to fuck up again 5 mins after they have left.

I am trying to call them again - From my mobile that costs a fortune - and all I get is Indian customer service who can not understand anything.

The last one said he called me back but I would not answer - He called the phone number that is not working!!!

What the fuck do I do? - I am totally fucked....

adapt. Seriously. Mobile up so you can do customer service calls on it. Or get skype with an indian number so you can do the same thing. then they can call you back etc.

In Brasil where all phone time is as spendy as hell. we(foreigners) all have smart phones and we use skype, viber etc to talk on the 3g so it is free.

Land lines are a viable option here in the 'West'.

I get what you are saying, but I have lots of relatives and older friends that just refuse to call a mobile.

Hear scratchiness and sometimes you dont even hear dial tone when you pick up? Probably an open or leaky box on a nearby pole. Especially if you recall it being bad or worse after rain or snow.

I think thats what it is - Its not on a pole but the box down the road is always open.

Ah, it's always a leaky or open box. I'd just TELL them what the problem is next time and then they wont have to work their brain cells and your time screwing around. No idea if you'd get in trouble, but if the trouble is outside then nothing inside is going to help most likely.
