Law & Order Child porn episode
 

Did anyone catch this? I just finished watching it out here on the west coast. Basically the thrust of the argument was that child pornographers are millions strong and it will continue to be around forever. The perps gave arguments like

"Not so long ago, inter racial marriage was look down upon by society."

"Not so long ago homosexuals were persecuted."

"It will only be a matter of time before we and our way of life is accepted by society too."

It made me wonder. As a civil libertarian I see their points but once again its impossible for a child to fully understand the ramifications of "consent". But at the same time, making a universal age limit on sexual consent is ridiculous. Everyone is an individual and someone of age 16 may be far more mature and capable of making decisions and choices than someone of far older.

I'm not saying this applies to 9 year old kids here, but thought the episode brought up some interesting points. My main business is the teen market and of course everything I do is legit 18+. I have to wonder how much of my traffic is actually seeking teens younger than 18.

These guys will use any arguement to justify what they do.

Normally the one they use is that babies have a sexuality and like expressing it. Then they say that in acient Greece it was normal for an older man to "Befriend" a younger boy.

I hate them they give us a bad name, because when ever some one wants to close the porn business down they links us to pedophiles.

We need them like a hole in our heads. This is why I am so stringent about IDs.

THat's scarey, the fact that these p[ervs think what they're doing is the same as interacial marragies or being gays. Having sex with someone under the age of 12-13 should bne pusihsed by death IMO.

In Sweden it is legal now for homosexuals to adopt children. The small childs have no saying, will find out when they came to scool!

go rent a documentary called ChickenHawk - it is about NAMBLA and it will freak you out. These guys believe their arguments to a point where it is laughable yet chilling.

Nice to see Dick Wolf pushing things again with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

The show is great (Belzer & Ice-T - hell yea), but some weeks he is just out to try and shock people. Like the one with the Down Syndrome girl who got knocked up by the kindly old grocer who apparently bred retarded girls... or the girl in the coma a few months ago...

Weird shit, but it is a compelling show to watch.

I find it funny that people forget millions of years in history in favor of the past few hundred years.
Remember, for the past few million years it has been normal for adult men to partner up with girls from age 14 or so. Only in the past few hundred years did the moral outlook on this change.
However, that's not enough to change nature.

I know it was a show and everything but damn it brought a few tears. I couldn't be a cop I would kill the ones that did shit like that to kids. I wonder how true it is that in other 3rd world countries they don't enforce any type of kiddie porn rings :(

Though this isn't the topic at hand, I don't see anything wrong with it if the adopted kids have no problem with it.. after all.. contrary to the, "If they grow up in a gay environment, they'll be gay" thoughts... Every gay person I've ever known of came from heterosexual parents.. and.. any child abuse I've read or heard about was in a hetero environment..

True.. it will always exist because there are tons of sick fucks that want it, but laws will also always exist to fight it, and hopefully, these laws will stiffen and eventually make cp production punishable by death. Too harsh? Fuck No!! If they know the consequences ahead of time, then they know what will happen when they get caught..
You can stiffen the possession laws as well, but there are way more that possess than there are that produce, so it would be a fruitless effort to try to eliminate the demand.

The politicians that act like they want to get rid of it are all talk.. slaps on the hands.. a few years in the pen.. big deal...
Make production/distribution an automatic death penalty.. no appeal.. to be carried out within 30 days.. THEN they can say they've done somethin about it.

In other societies, children are introduced to sex, frequently by close relatives, at an early age. (Of course, in many of those societies the average age at death is much lower, too.) However, in these societies, little harm is done. What does the harm in our society? Primarily it is guilt and shame brought on by our social attitudes toward incest and sex with young people. Now, I'm not saying those attitudes are wrong in any way, but it does make society the actual primary abuser, not the person having sex with the child. Certainly, there is an age where someone is too young to have sex because they don't fully understand what is happening, but society must set an age, and 18 sounds like a pretty good one, though I personally would opt for an older age if I had a choice. I also don't think anyone is really ready for sex until they are well into their 20's, but that doesn't stop 13 and 15 year olds from fooling around with it.

Disturbing shit, but IMO on par with some of the draconian statutory rape laws this country has... kids getting thrown in jail because their moms call the cops after the couple breaks up, etc. :ak47:

I heard somewhere there is a New England state where the age of consent for a girl is 16 and for a guy it is 18, so a couple both 17 having sex...the girl is committing technical statutory rape.
