Yes, if they're good parents they will explain that most people fall in love with a member of the opposite sex, but there are some people who fall in love with people of the same sex.

It's still love, and it doesn't make them bad or good people. They're just people.

That's what I told my daughters. And guess what - they're not lesbians, and regardless it will never and should never reflect on their respect for their country's military uniform.

It happened to fast that you missed it. The governments of Iraq and Afghanistan were removed in a matter of weeks. Say what you want about the reasons we went in and the following occupation, but the truth is the US military destroyed the other sides quickly.

That uniform represents the Right to personal choice and freedom. Something most Americans seem to have forgotten.

I finished my 6 year enlistment in the Navy a l-o-n-g time ago (30+ years), and there were lots of gay and lesbian people in the military back then. The fact is, there have always been gay people in the military.

There is a degree of homophobia in the military, but overall, most people I served with didn't care about anyone else's sexuality as long as they did their job.

It's odd, but I think that integrating women more into the military in the past few decades, in more and more non-traditional roles, helped the military to accept gay men more as well, since there are lots of lesbian women that join the military (well, at least the Navy from what I could tell).

That soldier does not disgrace the uniform, he doesn't honor it either. He wears it proudly and serves our (US) country. Would it be a disgrace for a WM (Woman Marine) to embrace her husband like that after a deployment? If the answer is no then it is true for this jarhead as well.... imo

A Marine is a Marine no matter race, gender, or sexual orientation. We all bleed and sweat Marine Corps green till we die and regroup in hell. He can do what ever he wants as long as he does his job and keeps his Marines from getting killed in combat.

Mr Pheer is incorrect and anyone who's been to a military ball, homecoming or deployment knows that hugging, kissing, crying and other PDOA are accepted in those venues.
