So you know, EVERYONE thinks you're a douchebag Gideon

Paper_Amar 02-27-2012 04:05 PM

Thanks for pointing this article out.

Currently working with our rep at Armovore to get to the bottom of this.

Will reply once we have an answer.

ThumbLord 02-27-2012 04:09 PM

interatesting indeed

Socks 02-27-2012 04:15 PM

Phew. It's good one of us has enough time to scour the internet to read long winded posts about unimportant things.

We should all pitch in and pay Gideon for his work.

Why 02-27-2012 07:18 PM

rip on gideon all you want, but what Armovore did was bad and good on gideon/techdirt for pointing it out. sending out bogus DMCA requests just because you can, is stupid at best. it also leaves them liable for perjury i believe.

imagine if the goverment was doing the same thing... searching google for a term, then blocking everything that came up, whether it was relevant or not.

One link taken down by obviously a mistake (which's been fixed already), and they all scream bloody murder. But when their buddies at filesharing sites somehow manage to "not notice" BILLIONS of infringing links, it's all fine.

Freetard crowd is retarded.

you do realize the content was taken down with a bogus complaint on january 20th

and it only got fixed today right

that more then 1 month of downtime.

that easily 10-15k of lost revenue. given the rates he is getting.

so should i have a right to send bogus dcma notices for your sites since your defending the bogus DCMA

how does two wrongs make a right.

BTW tech dirt doesn't have anything to do with filesharing sites, they don't own a singe filesharing site.
