Off Topic - What do you guys use for music when working?
Just curious if I am the only fool who cranks a wall of speakers at either side of the desk half-tilt while working?
I find the music inspires me, gets me excited and opens up for different wordings when doing data entry type tasks such as blog writing and gallery text. |
No music here........I like it when it's totally calm.....no noise
I have been listing to random music on spotify

Can then concentrate completely on what i'm doing - and depending on the bpm of the music can work faster too. |
No music, I need to concentrate fully on my work :)

Antioch University bitches!
"Hey - what up guys?" |
I find it helps drown out the rest of the people in the house. Silence would be distracting heh.
Usually always. I have everything uploaded to Google Music and just stream to headphones.
This is what I'm listening to this second: |

I listen to Pandora, but not loud... just barely enough for me to hear it.
When I have deadline to make, I crank the reign in Blood album by Slayer on repeat. It gets me frothing at the mouth like rabid dog.
Either I use shoutcast through winamp on my desktop or pandora on my tv.
I have music on 24/7 unless I'm watching a movie or a show. Pirate radio - http://www.kqlz.org is what I'm mainly listening too.
hardstyle or drumstep .. what i'm listening to right now youtu.be/WWNnBpuZMuI
I *ALWAYS* have music on while working. I picked up a pair of amazing Bose headphones and have them cranked to full blast while I work. I listen to mostly Metal but I have all kinds of music in my iTunes library. If there's no music, I can't think.
I've been really getting into Spotify lately, to discover new metal bands. There's almost nothing that's not on there.
I turn on an old monster Pioneer 4-channel mega-amp, crank up Led Zeppelin/King Crimson/Free/Savoy Brown/John Mayall tape on my Teac reel-to-reel and let my giant Pioneer speakers wail away in quad surround-sound. :firehair
The walls shake. But, hey, I own the place. Other days, listen to trance on Pandora in the background.:pimp |
I use Spotify and Pandora mostly, but I also own a bunch of music I have collected over the years so sometimes I listed to that as well. I probably listen to music about half the time when I work depending on how much I need to concentrate.
silence or calm relaxing music
That's more ON TOPIC than most of GFY threads :2 cents::2 cents:
I start with slow easy music in the morning (Norah Jones, Enya, etc), by noon I'm usually at at rap - the beat keeps me in pace and at night I'm usually going Linkin Park underground :thumbsup :thumbsup |
iTunes with different genius mixes depending on what I feel like listening to at the time.
I like the Rock and Roll..no rap shit
depends on the task. If I'm designing or coding, I listen a lot of music, ranging from electronica to South American folklore, from ambient to hard rock, I'm very eclectic in my taste. If I'm doing things I have to think more carefully (like writing text or data analysis) then I prefer absolute silence or a very calm relaxed music.
For example, right now I'm listening a group (well, a one-man-band) I've just discovered, "Washed Out". Before that, Anna Calvi, Graffiti6, Massive Attack and Brian Eno, but earlier today I was listening the "Selling England by the pound" LP by Genesis and a compilation of hardcore and punk bands from the 80s |
Radio Paradise
God, I'm fucking old!!! Although I listen to the Going Quantum podcast when I need extra juice. This + vodka + Red Bull + orange juice is a nice fucking combination! |
