Are You In Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention
I just went in waiting for the AEVC Opening Address: Stephen Yagielowicz,
Sr. Editor of XBIZ. I finally can wear heels again. LOL :thumbsup http://www.pimpspromo.com/geekgoodgirl-heels.jpg http://www.pimpspromo.com/geekgoodgirlheels2.jpg |
For those attending, please feel free to stop by the PimpsPromo.com booth located in the Green Hall for some relaxation and medication.
|
I'm there watching Greg Piccionelli's lecture.
Very interesting!! |
For show pictures, will it be screen caps?

They have a pretty cool setup that makes it relatively easy for me, I just have to remember to look closely before clicking my shutter. I got some time to play ahead of time, so I think it will be a pretty cool gallery when all is said and done. I will have day one up a little later. |
Promising (down the road)... I logged in and looked around and my impression is this event was not thoroughly thought out. No direction - upon entering there was no clear signage to "point the way" as to what was where. Suggestion: next time provide a female avatar guide at every doorway who can provide directions/FAQ information. Bad Audio Experience - during speeches there were random audio pops. There was also music playing in the background and from one room to another the volume was not consistent - I went into one room and yanked my headphones off it was so loud. Suggestion: kill the music or make it run independent of rooms to maintain consistency. Navigation Suggestion - it would be a great improvement to provide a right-click event map that allows a character to jump from one section to another rather than having to clumsily find their way there otherwise what's the benefit of using this technology. Work some of those bugs out and this could turn into something cool. I'm glad I checked it out. |

Created a profile, bumped into some doors. Couldn't find anything going on, so I left. :Oh crap Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention Are there videos of the speakers whom virtually spoke earlier today? If so, where are they virtually located? ADG |
Your experience is exactly why you should have come in a day or two early. If someone wants to go one a tour with me, I can take you to my bookmarks so you can find things easier.
No idea if there was a recording done of the live speakers. Maybe Loki knows. |
I dunno if anything was recorded, I would like to listen to my panel though lol, I know at past conventions they have done they did record it, I'll ask the UV people 2morrow and find out more.
Spannow and ADG, you guys really should have gotten in here a few days early to get used to everything, I've been there the last few weeks and now it's like 2nd nature to me lol. give it another look and stop by the green hall and check out my booth, or come to the LokiPorn after party on sunday! -Loki- |
oh and Baddog TELL ME you got a shot of Max from bonetown stark nekkid in the lecture hall a few mins before we all got on stage lmao
-Loki- |
Why was I not invited?

when you first logged in there was a HUGE splash screen (if you read it) telling you to enter the "VWW OF THE DAY" to get to the convention (which then was right in front of you on the right) Once you clicked that there was a big map, and signs on the walls giving you tips on everything, there were staff in every location with blue names (and labeled staff) so as for "No direction" I just don't see it lol. I will agree that the audio was horrid, ad as for the music, it's something you live with there lol, I keep my speakers at 1 to not deal with it and as for the navigation there is one click jumping, providing you landmarked places. Overall this has been a great convention, (and their 3rd virtual convention that I am aware of so they deff know what they are doing) and it's only just started! -Loki- |

Your failure is that you assume all attendees to be familiar with anything in this "environment" at all. Heck, there are always people at "real" shows getting lost to say nothing of a virtual space. If you actually read what I, and others, said I commended this effort but noted that there are tweaks that need to be made. Anyone who's ever been a part of any show knows that's always the case. And anyone who hasn't blames the attendees :2 cents: |

I realize this is a new venue and there will be some confusion, and for some they just won't like it at all, but those who did come in early to get the hang of getting around have sort of the upper hand now during the convention, it was said on most of the boards for the past weeks to get in early and familiarize yourself with the system and the controls, and for good reasons, if you've never been inside a virtual world, or are an avid or even casual gamer, you would prolly be put off coming in blind. the same can really not be said about a live convention, IF you attend a live convention you know how to dress yourself and how to walk, turn, sit, and talk to people, getting lost is something else all together though lol. I'm not blaming, nor would I try to blame any attendee's (minus anyone who has refused to come because they only see it as a "game" lol) I simply pointed out there was plenty of instructions and signage, maps & staff at every turn to help those who needed it. To go a bit further on the music (that I too loath lol) every part of the convention venue had a live simulcast of 'pleasureradio.fm' any music you encountered that did not flow from room to room would mean that you went to other areas inside the system that were not part of the actual convention (there are literally thousands of 'worlds' there, and many places have some sort of streaming music in them) The problem with the volume though, I totally feel you there, I MUST keep both my master volume and speakers at 1 in some places or I get blasted by music, it did seem though that the levels inside the convention area was 'decent' so far The speaking panels were rough as they were stacked skype conferences, and in my case both my mics were far too quite so I was called via telephone for the last half of the panel I was speaking on (and via the phone everyone could hear me just fine so I made note of that) As a sponsor, exhibitor and speaker at the convention I am very pleased so far with everything (minus the music lol) and I can't wait to see what the next 2 days bring. I would say Spannow & ADG log in 2morrow after Noon Est (select STANDARD as your orientation) and look me up "Loki3D_SOP" and I'll give ya the 10cent tour and show you the controls you need to know, and see then if you have a different view of the overall experience. (And I understand Spannow you're not saying it's bad) -Loki- |
Nah.....I need to get out of my room more..lol
|
one last thing then I need to crash....
at 3pm PST 2morrow in the convention theater.... .XXX Domains and the future of the Adult Industry Online: Diane Duke from Free Speech Coalition, Vaughn Liley from ICM Registry & Greg Piccionelli should be interesting :2 cents: -Loki- |
