Flying Wingsuit Man Hits Mountain :::
*OUCH*
|
cannot happen to hard working adult webmasters
|
Holy fucking shit - that's insane on so many different levels...
|
Damn he is lucky to have lived
|
I wonder what the outcome of that impact really was. 2 broken or shattered legs...maybe pelvis as well. Lucky is an understatement.
|
Just watched the story about this guy on Real Sports on HBO, yesterday. The guy is batshit crazy but in a cool way. Basically, "yeah, I know this is how I'm going to die but I'd rather die doing this than die at 85 after sitting in a cage for 8 hours/day for the rest of my life."
Part of the story showed him and a buddy flying. They were supposed to go over a bridge as part of some promotion. His buddy hit something protruding up from the bridge, died instantly and this guy had his blood all over him. This crash in the video above was part of the story on HBO. Surprisingly he only had a broken foot and a broken ankle. |
They go so close to things i'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.
|
It's more of a question of "when" rather than "if".
Same thing for those nutjobs who climb mountains without a rope. You can't go mistake free indefinitely. You WILL fuck up eventually. |
I wonder how many people have died doing that
|
he's incredible but i think it's inevitable he's going to kill himself one day. and i bet he's the kind of guy who will say he has no regrets. guys wired like him are different cats than the rest of us.
|
wow. amazing he even did that. even more amazing he survived!
|
if he can fly... he must be superman
|
Looks great , right up until the Big ouch :helpme

It's one of the few things in life I'd love to experience but would never ever try doing. |
it's a fine line between being courageous and just being a lunatic trying to die. He seems to flutter in between those lines with the stunts he is doing. Him comparing himself to everyone else working 'in a cage 8 hours a day' is just small minded though. There are a lot of people who live long, happy and exciting lives without attempting to turn themselves into goo from smacking into a mountain at 500 mph... If you have to attempt to kill yourself to be living life to its fullest then that would make suicide victims the epitome of enlightenment wouldn't it?

he gon die
Yeah, seriously that's some crazy stuff. At least set up a hoop like they do in RC airplane shows and try to brush past that instead of some unforgiving rock outcroppings. |

he is a total badass...i bet seal teams personalities must be similar to this guy. There is a percent chance they will bite it on each mission, yet they go anyway.
Watch grinding the crack in high definition. awesome |

This guy seemed resigned to the fact that he will indeed die doing this and he's OK with that. As long as he doesn't take anyone else out with him, it's hard to argue with him. |
Doing that in the first place is completely awesome and something I'd eventually like to try, but this dude purposely gets VERY close to the ground for the effect on camera. That is playing Russian Roulette.

I don't take pain killers either, helps you remember not to make the same mistake twice. |
That must be the jump that broke his legs...

This is from Jeb's facebook;
"I was asked in a base jumping forum what happened. This was my response. Well the answer is very simple. I was flying to close and messed up :) I was going for a black balloon that was basically laying on the rocks and was going to try and kick it with my foot. In order to do this I had to fly low and flat between boulders. My left foot clipped a boulder that dragged me into a flat ledge that I took at the waist at full speed. If I had not clipped that boulder I might have made it, I might have still impacted. It's very hard to tell from the footage. Everything happens very fast. But when you go for a flight where inches are the difference between making it and not making it well impact is very possible. I knew this and took the risk and paid the price for pushing way to hard. I take full responsibility for my actions and am just happy I still have legs to do rehab on. This is not my first time getting hurt and it will not be my last. I push it, always have and always will. One day I will die and I just hope that when I do, it will be doing something I truly love... Jeb P.S. I want to thank everyone for their support. 99% of you have been very very nice to me :) For the other 1% I agree with you 100%, I am a total dumb ass :) I am human and humans make mistakes. I am sorry for what ever inconvenience I have caused anyone..." |
i know i wouldnt do it, but really, he DOES have a parachute.
If he was doing it without a parachute, that would be different. but still major props. |
he would be lucky to die instantly. more than likely he will end up a dribbling vegetable and live a long time.

all in all a decent recovery, but damn that must have hurt
|
I know most people won't see it this way, but the sky-suit diving isn't that dangerous, it's the trying to skim a few inches above the rocks that's dangerous.
If he just jumped and flew, he could probably do it forever without incident. |
Really unbelievable video, hard to believe in that
|
Those guys have balls of steel. That pic looks like he sheered the skin right of his leg. Ouch.
You see the video where they are flying through the limestone mountains of China? Fucking incredible. Looks like they are flying through Narnia. |
