Yes, and it's by far the best product on the market imo. And of course it's free which is nice as well.

Sam uses it but it is not officially for adult because it is run by Google, I figured maybe Mr.Skin is closer to R rated than XXX. Something to consider. :2 cents:

What are the reasons for moving away from OpenX?

That would be my question, OpenX works well for many people and I know I've used it on many projects over the years.

I'm not moving away from it, I'm not even on it, just heard bad things about OpenX, also some time ago I had an installation that got hacked.

I'm looking for something as complete as OpenX to use on an adult network

How flexible is it? Can I create any kind of template or is it restricted to a banner image and a url?

Someone here in the office recommends My Simple Ads from ClipperSoft.

He says it's a bit resource intensive but allows for multiple ad types, easy setup / interface and multiple display options including ajax based rotation.

Most people?

Who are they? What are their credentials?

Openx is just fucking awesome. Works great. I've been using it for years.

Great for mainstream... Porn will get you banned FOR LIFE in their system. Don't even flirt with the idea because Google never lifts a ban once it is set.

+1 for smart spots

I am one that doesn't recommend using openx if you have any real traffic. It's a pig on resources for no more than it does. If you don't have much traffic then I suppose it's fine.

OpenX definitely tends to need regular upgrading to avoid exploits. Anything used that much attracts hacker attention. If you use their market, I find they slow pay, but they do eventually pay, if you pay attention to your stats. OpenX is a very robust solution. I used to love AdCycle, but the folks who eventually became DFP hired the guy who created in. Hmm, looks like AdCycle is free now. If anyone tries the current version, I'd love to hear feedback on how it works in 2012 because it was seriously awesome years ago. It was what SpookyCash used to use for hosted banner rotations.

SZNY 02-16-2012 06:26 PM

no problems with openx, you only need to secure your stuff precise

mchacal 02-17-2012 01:33 PM

I think I'm gonna go with Smart Spots, any idea of hardware requirements to serve around 5M ad impressions daily?
