No one likes pornographers...it's why they feel no guilt about stealing porn content.
|
If there is no risk or responsibility for theft people will steal, if they risk jail then they will buy.

But it makes an interesting point Be awesome to your customer and you don't have any problem with piracy at all Be a douche bag your praying for the laws to change for you to make money. BTW he is a little off with the statement. |

It's funny that people have to theorize about why people should or shouldn't get paid in the digital economy.

It has NOTHING to do with liking the person you could steal from. You either steal or you don't, and the reason you don't can range from not being able to steal it to wanting a higher quality version than what you can get for free (that's why I prefer to buy music and movies). But liking the person who created it... that just sounds like some shit a pirate would say to justify their actions. |
Why does U2's music get infringed then? Is it because everyone hates the humanitarian work that Bono does to fight aids?
Chronicles of Narnia was one of the most pirated films last year. People must have really hated those child actors so they pirated the movie to send them a message to straighten up and fly right. Of course that's just being silly, it's the studios we REALLY hate. Yes, the studios who force us to pay an outrageous .99 cents for a song. A totally unique and emotionally connecting piece of art that becomes the soundtrack to our lives and they dare to charge a whopping .99 cents for it. Kill them....KILL THEM ALL!! And don't get me started on the movie studios. Asking me to pay a few dollars just to watch a $200 million dollar project. How dare they want to recoup their costs by offering a product for less than it costs to eat at Subway. By the way, people must LOVE slave labor, because that's what Apple does and people buy that shit up as fast as they can crank it out. Or do they just love the quirky commercials? |

Piracy killed adventure games, and adventure game fans are desperate for games. what Schafer should have said is once an industry is completely decimated there will be people willing to toss in some cash to get what they want. until then they will pirate it. |

Amazing that no one likes asking for references or sample pictures before deciding to hire anyone. Like them or not - it's business and the employers job to make sure the person you're looking to hire CAN do the job to your standards. If not then it's your fault not theirs for doing a crappy job. Pay them and move on unless you have it written in the contract.
