Armageddon averted? Nukes 'on board' blazing sub (VIDEO)
|
Nuclear bombs don't just explode because you put them in a fire, the trigger explosion is a precise affair designed to make the fissible material supercritical in one go, and the trigger is probably plastic explosives or something like that requiring electricity to set it off.
At worst you're looking at melted missiles. |
Many missiles have burned in fires including blown up with the plane carrying them. Designed not to go off in those situations.
|
You guys are missing the point. The bombs don't need to explode. It's not a nuclear detonation that would be the problem, but rather the contamination that would be the problem.

Radiation is natural.

it's amazing that the US lets kremlin propaganda arm rt operate out of washington dc.

That is correct. A nuke that catches fire may explode thanks to other factors such as the chemical propellents catching fire. It would not cause a "nuclear" explosion but the radioactive plutonium would scatter causing lot of deaths, cancers, etc. It is essentially what a "dirty bomb" is. Take some radioactive material, sprinkle it on some TNT (maybe add salt for seasoning) and blow it up. A city block made radioactive. |
Here's a general rule to follow:
Don't let Russians near anything dangerous. |
LOL at trying to put a fire out on a submarine(which has a sole purpose of keeping water out) by spraying it with water, fucking Russians!

Again if the warheads do not explode, the radioactive material does not get spread about. A melted warhead is a sealed warhead
