Eric? Theo?

... but I really think GFY needs one set of those "like/dislike" buttons for posts

else, I'll cry until you do it :Oh crap

NaughtyRob 02-14-2012 04:20 PM

We kind of tried that with the popularity things and it didn't work well if I recall.

it's not the same at all. A rating system doesn't equal rep, rating systems are for posts, rep is for users :2 cents:

d-null 02-14-2012 04:23 PM

agree completely :thumbsup

PR_Glen 02-14-2012 04:31 PM

rep was stupid... that one 'rep generator' thread that that one meathead created gave all the trolls like insane amounts of rep.. never seen a mess like that on any other board i have been on. I guess adult is a different crowd hehe

The popularity thing was hilarious.

Baddog and some others giving bad rep to people, who in turn would cry all day about getting bad rep from someone. You'd think that reputation on GFY (or any web forum) had some direct impact on their lives the way they screamed.

I think GFY should bring it back.

:thumbsup

baddog 02-14-2012 05:00 PM

The rep thing was fun, but a like button would show a lot more traffic I would bet.

The problem with rep was that only the people with big post counts could give it and so they could share the good rep amongst themselves and neg rep those with low post counts.

A rep system for the buy and sell section where you could rep people you have done business with would be useful.

RyuLion 02-14-2012 07:23 PM

Harvey FTWW!!

Spunky 02-14-2012 07:31 PM

No button for you!

asdasd 02-14-2012 07:32 PM

yes no requests.

V_RocKs 02-14-2012 07:34 PM

Gfy is broken?

raymor 02-14-2012 07:45 PM

Slashdot has a pretty good system to +1 or -1 posts. Active members are randomly chosen every few hours to be able + or - posts, so noone can do much damage.

Dirty Dane 02-14-2012 07:49 PM

Words are so much better than buttons.

Some forums also had ability how you cant give negative rep without losing your own positive score.

MaDalton 02-15-2012 09:53 AM

"like/dislike" feature will make me feel like I am in Social Network

pimpmaster9000 02-15-2012 10:07 AM

A troll button would be nice :)

Say if a user gets 100 troll votes he gets a "Badge" to his account. 200 votes he gets supertroll status :D

Which is enough reason NOT to add it... :2 cents:

harvey 02-15-2012 11:38 AM

hataz...

anyway, here's my proposal in a graphic way so even GFY users can understand it :winkwink:

includes code at the side

fuckoff should have a middle finger man, NOT thumbs down..and a pissed off face, NOT a sad face..lol

Tom_PM 02-15-2012 11:42 AM

I've never "liked" anything online before. A GFY post would get my like cherry probably.

I don't understand why they wouldn't have put this in already. Even if someone tries to game it, it would likely be obvious by all their positive rep coming from new/mostly unused accounts.
