Windows Mail on Windows 7
I have just upgraded to a new computer, and wanted to move my Windows Mail to the new puter... but cant seem to get it to work...
We found a couple of links on how to do it... http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...dows-mail.html We followed the instructions but it just launches loads of instances of the program without actually showing anything... loads of the programs process if that makes sense :( Anyone know what it might be or am I doomed to use Windows Live Mail :( |
I was using Outlook Express back on XP, but after installing 7 I got pissed and went to Mozilla Thunderbird (freeware) which is a lot better.. Maybe you guys should try it out too..

I have been told you can definetly get it copied onto your new computer, with folders and emails intact... so I really want to get it sorted :( |

My god. Start using Gmail so you can avoid this issue.

I think you have to use Windows Live Mail. Windows Mail doesn't work on Windows 7 I don't think
|
Well...

But for some reason even though we followed the instructions to the letter, we're getting some errorts... I posted here in the faint hope that someone might of had the same problem... judging by the initial responses I am guessing that isnt so :Oh crap Oh well the search continues... |
When I upgraded to Win 7 I also didn't realise Mail was gone. I managed to bring it across and get it working great using some document I followed, problem is every-time windows update runs it flakes out. They are basically forcing people onto Windows Live.
I now use Thunderbird by Mozilla, it is a million times better, trust me it is worth the effort to change. You won't believe how much faster you can work with it and if you use Firefox it will be pretty intuitive for you to use. |
Thanks All...
I'm gonna see if I can get a work around in the next 24 hours... if not then I will definetly upgrade to ThunderBird... even if it means doing all my folder organisation again :Oh crap
