I'm a sucker for homeless people that have pets. When I lived on Pine Island I bought a couple thousand pounds of food every year and delivered it to the local church food banks.

I knew a guy with a "will work for food" sign and a $500 / month car payment. I spent some time with another group who brought in about $60 / hour panhandling. Since then, I'm a bit more careful about how I give.

If a homeless guy ask for money, I ask him how much to kill my x wife. I love the look on their face. (note: I don't have a x wife)

i'll give money to one of those hot "homeless" punk chicks in exchange for sexual favors but thats it.

I would raid Publix with dog food coupons and get bags for a good price with the store managers help. Most food banks never receive pet food. Made me feel better than helping people to be honest.

how come every right winger seems to "know" a large number of people who abuse other people's charity? ever person i know who was begging or whatever had fuck all and lived in a tent or under a bridge.

Sometimes I'm more likely to give some change to someone who actually writes on a sign or says that it's to get stoned, drunk, or whatever, rather than the sorry individual who says it's for food, bus fare or whatever. You know they've been using that line all day/week/month...

When it's chicks I think they tend to lie less than guys - unless they have that ravaged junkie look.

There's one elderly lady who's not underfed or anything in our area who has a schtick about her situation, getting kicked out, not having food, and she cries... an amazing actress, really. The first time I saw her I was really moved and felt bad for her, but all I had was plastic.

But I've seen her in line at the bank, where she appears completely normal. Guess she failed all the auditions or something...

I asked her if she had had dinner, and when she told me No, I handed a $20 bill and told her to get herself a pack of cigarettes and a meal at McDonalds....

At first she didn't want to take it, but I convinced her to take it after we had a chat....

none. I find it hard to bring myself to reward failure. the money is better spent giving to someone who will actually benefit from it.

Not only that, who gives a fuck? If a friend asked me for $5 for a pack of cigarettes or some shit I'd give it to him too.

It's weird, but I do it based on what level their dressed at. If a guy, or girl (in New York city)has better clothes on, I'm more likely to give money to them. Maybe I think they don't usually beg, and just need a few bucks to get home.

If the bum is crusty and look like he's rooted in as part of the ecosystem, then I don't give, because I wonder if he'd even know what to do with 35 cents.

Maybe when people have experiences like that it changes their views and behavior? Maybe once you see their flat screen TV and game system, you then become a bit wiser in how you give.

I have a spare bedroom that has housed many a person who was down on their luck. People with nowhere to go for various reasons - divorce, just got out of prison, whatever. Mostly alcoholics and drug addicts who are trying to get better. Giving is important to me, and just as important is giving in a way that will actually help, so if I hear of a guy just out of prison who is going to the day labor place while he looks for steady work I'd rather help him than the guy who is doing dope and not trying to do any better. In once case I'm helping someone improve their life. In other, I'm helping them stay in a fucked up life.

Last night I did a fundraiser for Scotty's House, an organization that helps abused kids and their families, mainly victims of sexual abuse. I know my efforts there are helping those who need it, rather than buying another bottle of whiskey for the abuser to get drunk and do it again. Last weekend it was an event for acoloholics trying to sober up, all weekend. What did Porno Jew the leftist do last night?

I've given more to homeless guys than women. I gave a guy 94 cents in hallandale beach, outside a 7-11, i felt bad cause I was just going to grab some heineken. He asked for change on the way in, I told him i didn't have any and would after my purchase.

but i don't give that often to homeless people bumming change on the street.

i never just give money to someone who is sitting on the street.
if im approached and they have a good lie or an angle they are working...i will sometimes give them money. I judge based on their looks and clothing to be honest. Too many times i see people wearing nicer shoes then i am, asking for money.

Anyway, i am not often in a position to see homeless people these days.
I hope it stays that way.
I work from home 40% of the time, the other 60% i either go to a clients office, or i go to my office. I drive directly to both, so no homeless people.

When im drinking i run into some, i usually lose money to them then, especially the ones with a song or something. One bum got rich the last time i was in new york..i made everyone we were with give him $20 bucks..lol

One asked me 5cents to buy a Nuclear weapon.
