Need a Search Engine Optimizaton Service
 

Can any of you guys recommend a search engine optimization service.


I've tried a couple in the past and been unhappy with the lack of results. It's my impression most of these guys are scammers. Are there any good ones out there?

those inexpensive programs are always junk. There are no short cuts. There are penalties for people caught using bad programs like link farms.

It's also expensive to hire the talent. For most websites it doesn't pay to hire. You gotta learn how to do it yourself to make money on it.

I think it's well worth it. I only do seo now after years of trade management. trades sucked, people always hitting you this way and that way, it's damn hard to keep your traffic quality up. with search engines it's just me in my office twiddling away, quietly making money with very few hassles.

If you're gonna use a service or consultant, be sure they don't dupe you with "guaranteed top 10 ranking" bullshit. That's the #1 line.

The truth about top 10 rankings is this:
1. they are critical to a high performance seo campaign.
2. Even a top 10 ranking is only worthwhile if you are ranking for a good key word/phrase. To decide what keywords to target, use http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/ or another keyword suggestion tool.
3. for highly competitive keywords a top 10 ranking does not come easy. If it did, everyone would do it, then the resulting competition would make it difficult. We have long since gone through that cycle. You will never find a cheap solution to this problem.

Ranking in the top 10 for a worthless keyword is the scam. this is how it goes: a seo firm says "I'll get you in the top 10, guaranteed..." and sure enough, 30 days later you are in the top 10, for the phrase "marty's dirty little secret." Of course ranking for the phrase "marty's dirty little secret" is worthless because no one searches for that, except maybe marty.

Now that overture's grouping search terms their suggestion tool might be fucked. Not sure but it's still free and it gives an approximation.
