A series of remarkable tales of the dangers of teaching in inner city schools emerged during a shocking phone-in on LBC 97.3.

James Whale was discussing the news that a number of head-teachers were paid a salary of over £100,000, when Pat called to say that teachers have it easy and don't deserve those kind of wages.

The two calls that followed were very dramatic. Firstly, 'Rachel' from Southwark revealed that she felt scared going to work every day and that a pupil once threatened to rape her.
