Very important

With all the BULLSHIT that some content providers are spewing, it's nice to see someone who is trained coming up with an opinion.

You think Dave Clark should read this? 2257 & the Law. Someone email him this link.

Some spew they want to protect a girl?s privacy? Then don?t take pictures of her with her panties round her ankles, a vibrator in her pussy and then sell them. :feels-hot

Read it and take it in. :thumbsup

Some one said they did not understand what this is about on another board.

It's that some content providers do not supply 2257 documents as a matter of course.

Dave Clark of Web Legal actually said that he does not need to give/show it to the webmaster. He will only do so if he thinks it's appropriate. Others say they will not give it to the webmaster to protect the girls privacy.

The law is clear. Webmasters are publishers, they are responsible for the 2257 info.

There is one thing the lawyer missed though. How many of producers have the model release in English and the girls native language? I know one who does. :winkwink:

I have read some post of Aaron and he said that you are not to provide with documents - you just have to be keeper of records and be able to provide in some case

Paul Markham 02-07-2003 04:47 AM

Well read the article by a lawyer, read the links on the bottom of my site's front page, also written by a lawyer.

Aaron is a lovely guy, but ask him advice on photography not the law. The law is clear the publisher (webmaster) has to be able to show the documents to the authorities.

This is besides the fact that if the police knock on his door, the last thing he wants to say is. "They are with the guy I bought them off of on the Internet, no I've never actually met him, no I don't know where he lives. But I do have his email address!!"

It seems that a lot of you already knew about this law. But just in case some missed it.

*BUMP*

and what if the content provider quits the business, and you suddenly need the records?

Bottom line:
GET THE 2257 INFO!!!!!!

Then best thing for you is to take up a paper round. This business is a target for do gooders. Make sure they do not get you in their sights with your understanding of a very basic law.

Exactly. You need the info.

It's not like it's difficult. The lawyer actually lists what you need.

But did he miss something?

Should the model release be in the models native language?

Tricky point, I think it should, just in case. But then I was always the guy that was careful.

Better safe than sorry, is my motto.
