What's up with all the politics? Its like an old man's club in here anymore.

USA bashing, threads posted to create divisiveness on purpose, Bush, Saddam, Bin Laden, North Korea and on and on.

Aren't we all here to talk about the Porn Biz?

Don't get me wrong I love the politics as much as everyone else and post a lot myself. But its taking over the board it seems.

Maybe time to have a separate forum just for porn and industry threads only and everything else, the politics and fights on another forum here.

Just my 2 cents, but I'm sure I'm not alone on this. . . .

This is where we all hang. A lot of us know each other pretty well. Shit happens in the world. We talk about it amongst ourselves here, where we hang. You can only talk about porn and business related topics so much, and at some point there will always be some item in the news or some event in the world that will spark conversation.


I guess you weren't here a few years back, on that one morning where some planes hit some buildings? No, there wasn't much political debate going on here then. Not much at all. I think that thread titled "WTF? A plane just crashed into the twin towers" (or something to that effect) only got like 600 replies. Probably only 2 or 300 follow-up threads on whose fault it was and how the US deserved it etc, so yeah, I see where GFY has gotten too political LATELY.

This board is most definitely about the industry, and politics directly affect our industry. Even from the value of the dollar, everything that happens on a global scale is going to affect us, one way or another. It may be directly or indirectly, but it will still affect us. This is still business after all. Simply because we make our money in what is considered an unconventional or generally unaccepted way does not change that inescapable fact.

Personally, I like the fact that the board isn't so uptight that generalized discussions can take place without some mod nazis coming in and screaming about things being "biz related". This is one of the most global businesses I've ever encountered, as far as a wide cross-section of countries being represented. I figure that makes us a very global community.

Being in porn does not remove us from the world around us, it just gives us a different color of glasses to look at it through.

I think its tough to have political discussions here. There are some that have extremely far left views and its hard to debate with someone that wont accept facts. Then when some of the canadiens and euros chime in with their anti-american agenda it gets old.

See? Right there, man, adjust your fine tuning behind your left ear. There are quite a few Canadians who support and say many good things about the US here. Don't be blasting out names of whole countries when it is only a few individuals from those countries who piss you off.


And wake up dude. Talking politics in ANY group, especially a group as diverse as GFY, is going to spark some heated debate and disagreements. What?.... you want everyone to just agree with you? Sorry, that's not the way it works with pretty much everything in life, but especially political debate.

Have any of you ever tried posting on a mainstream non-adult forum before? I have, to several, and let me tell you most of them are wayyy different than GFY. You step out of line on some of them forums, go off topic for even one sentence and WHAMMO.... the thread is locked by some Joker mod who thinks he's Seargeant God of the conversation police.

Trust me, GFY is heaven compared to those boards, with regards to enjoying freedom of speech.

Political discussions are one thing. But like one of the posts above when people won't accept the facts and then sit their debating and defending their viewpoints, it gets so exasperating.

I think discussing the worlds problems in an open forum is great. I am old enough that I can remeber before the internet I didnt even get a chance to discuss things with people all over the world. If for no other reason that makes the internet great.
And when you get right down to it we(not the governments)own this world I think we should have discussions about what goes on in it.

Others are a good indicator of the brainwashing tactics used by the conspiracy websites read by many GFY webmasters. You know, the webmasters that say "CNN brainwashes people" and then quote from "Joe Pinko's Anti-American Conspiracy Website. My Opinions and Why you Should Believe Them".
