those bikes are tight as hell,...

im thinkin of gettin one
what do you recommend? and how much they cost

dnsmonster 02-06-2003 10:42 PM

I tend to like Yamaha's. I am too damn scrawny for an R-1 so I go for an R-6.

SNOW 02-06-2003 10:43 PM

R-6 ALL THE WAY

Dj Furious 02-06-2003 11:34 PM

r1's are smaller and lighter?
im about 6ft tall, the yamaha r1's were my initial choice,

what makes the r6's better?

archik 02-07-2003 01:01 AM

R1's are same size but heavier due to the bigger (1000cc) and more powerful engine, than in the R6 (600cc)

r6 revs higher, but R1 is the king as far as uncompromised preformance goes.

R6 is also cheaper on insurance.

Both bikes are veeeeeeeery fast, r1 a tad faster and has better top speed due to more torque/hp

Oh.. and the r1 wheelies much better, even on the HWY in 2nd gear.. just open the trottle wide open and hold on tight.. with r6 u gotta really wind it and/or dump the clutch to get it up

R-6 has significantly better handling though. I took an R-1 on the twisties and didn't feel safe going over 80 mph while on R-6 I average 110 mph there.

I've got a 2 year old RC51. It's my third road bike, and my favorite so far. Would be a nice race around the track the three of us ;)

With regards to the B-King...

a 1000 blows away a 600. no replacement for displacement...

Wh00ps hi rochard
I already replied to u in the other forum =)

When those kids learn that on a blackbird u can ride 150mph for 3 hrs straight and your ass wont even hurt afterwards, they'll upgrade from their short wheelbase crotch rocket r1's and gsxr1000's and such :)

archik 02-07-2003 10:15 AM

I meant to say i replied in the other THREAD.. not forum

That's why I keep the CBR1000 - big, fast and I can do 400 miles on 2 tanks of petrol and still have a smile on my face :thumbsup
