Bad idea. For the military to function like a well oiled machine a soldier must submit himself completely to external discipline, have internal discipline, stength of will and be of strong sound character. The vast majority of convicts lack all of these qualities.

here is my point of view...my SFQC training started with 150 guys of all nationalities.

by the end of the third week all the black guys were out of the picture...the sleep deprivation and standing in freezing rain and not eating ended their special forces career quick

lots of caucasions washed on out, too

not a single puerto rican washed out....all 13 made it without even flinching, tough as nails and damn good soldiers. You couldn't make em flinch. It was impressive

Of all of the Special Operations Forces training it would be the SEAL training that I woud not have ever attempted. The physical training, the sleep deprivation, etc. I could have handled but not the freezing cold. They torture those guys with the cold.
