If chat traffic sucks it's because the idiots generating it fucking suck.

The funny part is the best way to handle that kind of traffic takes 1% of the effort and / or code as the way most do it.

i find lots of adult urls are getting banned from facebook because of that.

The fake profiles are easy to detect though. Just gotta weed those out..

they are easy to spot (and ignore...it does inflate my follow numbers :winkwink: ) but i'm just asking, rhetorically of course, if this is acceptable to the sponsors

Whilst those messages can be annoying, bots following you isn't a problem. It will actually lead to more real people following you.

Bot follows you.
Bot follows real person A.
Chances are Twitter will sooner or later recommend you to person A.
