xrumerservice.org Fucking Spammers!

Everyday these douche bags spam my wordpress blogs with their sites. I have comments off, but they must use some auto-submit to spam their crap each and everyday.

Why anyone would buy this service is beyond me, but now I have a few minutes, time to start filling some FCC reports and maybe, even file a small claims court case to try and score an easy $500 for violating the can-spam act :thumbsup

I get those too, it's very annoying...every few months I will go through and delete them from the "waiting for approval" queue.

you can modify the discussion setting to get that to stop.

why? then I wouldn't have as many things to bitch about :winkwink:

what i want to do is if someone tries to submit a comment, it bans their IP address then redirects them to an image of goatse

Just edit their comments to link to your own stuff, submit for fresh content.

I've never found a way to stop the torrents of spam with WordPress regardless of what I do. Double true for WPMU. :1orglaugh

If you turn off comments then it will only apply to new posts. In order to turn off comments to existing posts, you need to edit those and close comments for those as well. You're probably getting spam comments to old posts, this is why you think they're "sneaking in" comments despite you having comments turned off.

Indeed. However, an SBL will eliminate them all the same. It takes time, and you may need to go a round or two with it, but if you're persistent you can handle it.
