Germany Forcing Unemployed Women into Legalized Prostitution

BERLIN, January 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - News agencies around the world are carrying the story of a young German woman, a qualified information technologist, who has been told that she faces suspension of her government relief benefits if she refuses to take a ?job? as a prostitute in a Berlin brothel.

The unemployed woman, who has not been named, had indicated her willingness to take jobs outside her field and has worked in a café. Britain?s Daily Telegraph reported that the woman, who has not been named, received a phone call offering her an interview for a job. She did not realize the ?job? was prostitution in a brothel until she telephoned. After the woman refused, she was told by the job centre that her benefits would be cut off if she did not go into prostitution.

What's wrong with that?

Slappin Fish 01-30-2012 11:05 AM

Old news.

Tough one... On one hand I don't agree with people being forced into prostitution. On the other hand, you're kind of supposed to take any available job, if you're unemployed. You can't scoff at an opening just like that. If it were me, I wouldn't force her to do that and I wouldn't cut her benefits either. But she'd better fucking land a waitressing job or something real fucking soon.

I know........ thats why welfare states are crashing. People keep refusing to work.

woj 01-30-2012 12:04 PM

she wasn't "forced" into anything... she was given a choice, take that job, or lose benefits... :2 cents:
both choices perhaps a bit unappealing, but letting someone collect welfare checks for years isn't exactly too appealing to the tax payer either...

cooldude7 01-30-2012 12:07 PM

this is what happens when Prostitution becomes legal.

thats not a choice at all.. and that is horrible...

but i'm willing to bet thats not even what happened. there had to be some form of miscommunication going on here. Either the employer lied about the kind of work they were hiring for or she didn't report it to them as to why she turned it down.

Hmm that's weird, here usual such thing appear only if you refuse job in your domain, for example if you are listed how you can work as bartender and then you refuse such work you got deleted then.

brassmonkey 01-30-2012 12:19 PM

nothing wrong with that if their legal age.

it does sound horrible, but really it's equivalent to having a law that says that benefits are cut off after 1 year... if you can't find work by yourself in a year, take what is offered or GTFO...

and where does one draw the line anyway? would for example "forcing" her to work in a coal mine or butcher shop be any better?

pimpmaster9000 01-30-2012 12:42 PM

LOL like germany has job openings at the local job center for prostitutes LOL get real guys....

sauerkraut salesman? crack open a jar and she's yours :pimp

It would be an interesting situation because on the one hand it makes sense that after a year you'd have to choose - take whatever (legal) job is offered, or the tax payers will stop paying for you. On the otter hand, with prostitution being legal, it doesn't seem right that she'd be expected to take that job.

I say it WOULD be an interesting situation because to me the full year of tax payer handouts before she's expected to start working give her plenty of time to find a job.

yes it would be because those aren't slave jobs...

or you implying that anyone with a working class is a slave already? If that's the case i'm not very impressed...
