|

|
No judge ordered this, where are you getting that info from?
|
Thanks a lot Obama???
More like thanks a lot OP for making stuff up out of thin air and using a subject that is NOT even in the article you listed. |
i stand corrected it was the attorney general who is ordering people personal and work information to be destroyed.
|
People should do background checks on the places they save their data...

OP, are you really that fucking clueless or can't you read???
Here is the whole article you linked to, no where does it say that anyone has ordered any info destroyed. "US prosecutors have warned that Megaupload users could start losing the data they uploaded to the company as early as this Thursday. The US attorney's office had been granted search warrants for Megaupload data hosted on servers based in Virginia at Carpathia Hosting and Cogent Communications. In executing the warrants, prosecutors copied selected data from the servers, but they didn't physically confiscate any of them. Now that the lawyers have served the warrants and taken the data they wanted, they can't continue to search the servers and have handed control of them back to Carpathia and Cogent, they said in a letter to the court filed on Friday. Megaupload lawyer Ira Rothken told the Associated Press that at least 50 million users had stored data with the company, including family photos and personal documents. Users weren't able to access the data throughout this month while the prosecutors held the servers. The US attorney has also frozen all of Megaupload's assets so it's not able to pay Carpathia and Cogent for their hosting services. Rothken said the company was working with prosecutors to try to ensure the data wasn't erased. "We're cautiously optimistic at this point that because the United States, as well as Megaupload, should have a common desire to protect consumers, that this type of agreement will get done," he said. The concern for the data isn't entirely altruistic, as Megaupload also wants access to the information to defend itself in the criminal case. Although Megaupload is based in Hong Kong and its head honcho, German-born Kim Dotcom, is currently resident in New Zealand, the US prosecutors reckon they have a case based on the fact that some of its leased servers were in Virginia. The attorney's office has charged seven men, including Dotcom, over illegal downloads of music, movies and other content. " |
Awwwwww, poor dumb asses who put important shit on a file sharing site and didn't keep a back up.
|
this is almost like the night of the long knives for personal information storage.

Not as big a fail as yours PJ.
Your subject was a complete fabrication, nothing close to that in the article. Your correction was equally as fabricated, again, nothing even close in the article. |

Between, over or under the lines, everything you wrote was lies. Pure bullshit that you pulled out of your ass. Aren't you just the coolest kid? |
honestly if you were dumb enough to upload stuff like that to MU and only keep it there then you should probably point the blame-finger at yourself and not someone else..
USB 1TB harddrivers are pretty cheap to come by and dont take up much space so easy to hide too if need be.. |
I think the defence is praying it will be deleted... lack of evidence and he'll get off scott-free

I really like your analogy with "night of the long knives for "personal information"" (Note the heavy sarcasm where i put personal information in double quotes LOL) I mean don't let silly things like reality get in your way LOL. Can't wait for them to shut down the pirate bay so that you can come and whine again how "personal information" is being "long knifed" LOL. |

Perhaps you'd better restrict yourself to commenting on articles that you've read. The "Feds" have given control of the servers back to the hosts and can not access them anymore. "Now that the lawyers have served the warrants and taken the data they wanted, they can't continue to search the servers and have handed control of them back to Carpathia and Cogent, they said in a letter to the court filed on Friday." |

The bottom line: Nobody gives a shit about bottom feeding pirates. Their rights do not mean shit. The rights of the rich and powerful mean something. Big money gets what big money wants. Emo kids who want "file sharing" just get fucked. You chose the wrong side to be on. "File sharing" is a dying business model. Adapt or die. |

So you had all your personal data uploaded to MU ? Or are you just talking crap ? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
It's almost like they're treating people's shady files like they're own, and deleting them at will? :)

sometimes violence is the only answer.

i was reading a news story that a man had digitized all his family photos and backed them up on megaupload. he was lucky as he suffered a house fire and lost the originals as well as his computer where they were backed up as well.
with the last copies of the photos pending deletion the man was heartbroken that his newborn son will never know what grandma's face looks like, as she died from brain cancer last year. this shit is out of control. |

You muhfuckas got trolled... :2 cents:
