I never had problems in about 10 transactions. Maybe I'm just lucky though

I've made a lot of profit from the most strange things :Graucho

Yeah, never buy dildos. My grandma bought one, and she thought it was a singing carrot.

about 4 months ago I bought a phone for £130 but never received it :( I've been waiting 3 months for ebay to pay me back as promised. They say you'll get your money back if someone fucks you over but so far I've received jack.

If you used a money order, yes, you are fucked.

m0rph3us 02-06-2003 03:39 PM

:(

It's not the money but the concept of being ripped off that pisses me off.

I like ebay, but it is true that their support sucks. They reply to emails with form letters and if you call, they tell you to email the people who will send you a form letter.

Where the fuck does it say that?

Anyways, I've done over 100 transactions on ebay and I've never been fucked.

i'm about to sell 3 laptops on ebay.. wish me luck.. i can only imagine the email's ill get from would-be bidders..

some advice would be dont buy electronics on ebay unless they guarantee it isnt D.O.A.

I did about 6 years back. I was buying a lot of rare HotWheels from ebay at the time, and one came up that I just had to have.

I emailed the seller, asked her all sorts of questions about it to make sure it was the REAL one and not a remake that had come out in the 80s. She sounded like she didn't know much about the car and said she found it in a box of her son's (now grown up) stuff, so it all seemed legit.

I won the auction for something like $150.00, sent the money, got the vehicle, and saw immediately that it was indeed the 80s remake (worth about 50 cents). No amount of e-mail or phone calls could get her to refund my money, because she kept saying that the year she had listed in the auction was the same year on the vehicle. It wasn't, and I never did get my money back.

Ahh well.

I have been lucky on Ebay...never been ripped off really...probably spent about $10-15k on there since around 1997. Only bad experience I had was buying some 1970s comic books that were supposed to be near mint but were actually beat up. That was only like a $25 transaction though.

I also sell stuff on there every week from my comic store. I do have a problem with deadbeat bidders, which is why you should never ship anything until you get payment. There are many more scammers bidding on things than selling. You need a valid credit card on file to sell.

Hehe...Hot Wheels are so trailer park.

Bought and sold many things on eBay.

I've had one bad experience with a buyer who claimed that the item I sent him was broken in the same exact place his wife's original one was...yeah riiight.

He gave me a negative because I wouldn't send him the other one I had.

I just turned it over to UPS and let their insurance handle it.

I almost had one bad experience with a seller.

It was Christmas 2001, I bought a gift for my father and the lady went out of business.

So I was running around scrambling at the last minute trying to replace it but couldn't because it was no longer sold in stores...which is exactly why I tried to buy it on eBay.

Well about 4 months later, spring of 2002 I get a check for 100% of my money back. No note stating what happened, or she was sorry etc.

It is good for some stuff, but I bought a few discount electronic things that never quite worked correctly...

For selling stuff, Amazon marketplace is much easier....

directfiesta 02-06-2003 10:42 PM

Just sold a cisco router near 2k; took 3 hours to close...Both I and the buyer are happy.
Ebay can be good , but you have to know your stuff...

I paid for leg weights via check on Ebay just before Christmas and never got them. Same thing with some pralines. I think that fraudulent selling is more common during the holidays.

escorpio 02-08-2003 09:41 PM

This piece of shit sells stolen content on eBay. Feel free to call him up and let him know what you think of fuckers like him. Matthew Kart 973-764-0067
