Well, it depends, if you are trying to sell teen memberships with pictures of grandma having explosive Diarrheas, yes it's normal.

of course when it gets to those proportions, you can always try another sponsor and see if the problem is on your side or on theirs

I did that once. I sell both gay and straight porn and 1 time I had a gay gallery with text in there that said "Watch Grandmothers having XXX Sex"

I couldn't stop laughing when someone pointed it out to me, it was too late to change it, thought it was hysterical.

I don't get why so many webmasters complain on here and then they still have the same sponsors and advertisers months later and post signups are still bad and stuff.

TrafficCashGold and FM's CE Cash progs convert fantastically. Try them instead.

Want conversions than 1/800 ? Drop over. :)

Thanx for the offer, but it has been offered to me many times. I've talked to mr Borgman a couple of times and the only conclusion he has it that everything is ok and that it's just bad luck.

I've tried other sponsors also, I got the same effect. Some periods goes well, other goes bad. I've looked at my content, but there are no big changes with it in the different periods.

ARS stats look bad because they count ALL hits. Most other programs only count 37th page uniques, so of course their ratios are going to be better.

Well, I can only speak from experience. The reason ARS retains webmaster well is

1) while some weeks would suck there would be good weeks as well --- right when you're about to swap links, things turn out

2) reward points are addictive

I guess, to some extent, retaining webmasters is like retaining surfers....ARS is good at retaining webmasters although a lot complain.

Finally, another reason people would rather complain from time to time rather than move is that other BIG programs are not any better. Indeed, some are worse than ARS in terms of service and conversion.

There are a few small programs out there that convert really well, unfotunately the webmasters currently promoting them dont want them to be overexposed so they remain a secret.

Which brings us back to square 1 ... venting.

There's been like 3 or 4 threads about ARS conversions in the last 24 hours

It has always been the case, and probably with other sponsors too. Some are doing 1:10k while some are doing 1:250 ...

If you sent those 10k hits in one week .. compare with previous weeks .. if it's really different from past conversions, there might be a problem somewhere .. if it's on their side, they probably won't tell you (any sponsor), if it's on yours and you haven't changed anything, well we're back to "if it's on their side"

There's not much to do about it then .. try other sponsors:thumbsup

you can adjust the numbers of other sponsors. i always look at impressions anyways

Lots of other sponsors are now offering reward points. But every sponsor fluctuates over a relatively small period of time.

IMO WM's should keep track of their own raw clicks and not rely on the Affiliate Programs hit counters.

This way you are able to count the number of hits you send and look at the revenue generated from those hits.

We have always based the traffic we send to other people using this "Value per Click" model and it allows us to properly track the REAL value of our traffic. :)
