this is the likely result, a painful interface will mean less time spent on the site, similar to what happened to myspace, it got too annoying for people to use so they just went there less and less and it fizzled out

Totally agree here. I switched over to it by mistake, just thinking I was messing around with it, and i could switch it back. I have noticed in myself that I went from checking it every day to every couple of days, and I feel like my usage is going to gradually die away to nothing.

I think this will be the result more and more, I see many people losing interest in it, they are missing the fact that it was linear and simple is what drew people back minute by minute as the day went on, now it it painful to look at and I can see many people not bothering much anymore

Early adopter here. Been using Timeline for a while.
After a short while, persons will see the benefits of it.
Better organization and control over every post, especially past ones.
I can jump back to 2007 in one click and see my first posts when I joined the FB, as well as the highlights of that particular year.
Those who complain may not be fully aware of the genius behind it, but it is.Comment
