How do you handle your business?

Well, for me? I do what it takes, at least I try too.
I have always liked working nights. I get more done.
All nighters, there great. You get a lot done which will give you the jump on the rest of the week.

The way I do it is I work until I can't keep my eyes open any more. Then and only then I'll catch 2 to 4 hours sleep.
It only makes since for me to do it this way. I enjoy what I do and want to do it right.

My up most and primary responsibility is to the sponsor I work for.
2nd is all of the Tgp2 projects and sites I am involved in.
3rd are my own personal sites, projects and goals.

If I have to work sometimes 24 hours a day so be it, I will get it done.

I am really amazed at webmasters that say I don't have the time for this or the time for that.
I guess not, if you are only willing to put 2 or 3 hours in it a day.

Maybe this will explain my views on this Business.
This is a business::..The more you work it, the more you reap.
At minium a webmaster should work a 8 hour day with set breaks.
Get up, shower, get dressed, eat breakfest and then head off to the room you use for your office or to your office.
Write out a game plan for the week, todos, deadlines, phone calls and so on.
Stick to it as much as you can.

Keep your ICQ open to answer question and to network with others.
Don't worry about the ICQ spam..that is easy..just click delete.

Don't hang on the boards all day. While they are helpfull and fun they do eat time. By no means stop going to them but keep track of your time spent at them.

Like I said this is a business. YOU HAVE TO TREAT IT AS A BUSINESS. I just can't say that enought to webmasters.

Here's a test to see how you rate yourself.
Write down::
Time you start working
Each break you take
How long of breaks you take
What you get done as you get it done
Major and miner coal or projects done
Time you end your the day
Total amount of hours work.

Do this over a week or even a month
Total everything out.
Now look at it real hard::..Be Honest::..would you really want to have this person as an employee?
Or would you fire them on the spot.

If you answered yes to having them as a empolyee, that's very good!
If you answered no you would fire them then you need to correct the problem areas fast or get out of this business.

9am till 2am everyday. Anything less I would only be cheating myself.

A strong work ethic always pays off in the end.

Ever how long it takes. Soimetimes on 24 to 48 hour or longer stretches. And yes, all nighters are awesome.

I would fire myself.

I am an employee; I am VP of Operations for Lightspeed Media. Our offical office hours are 10AM to 6PM. However, I am always here at 9AM in the morning, and I usually stay till after 7PM. I also work in the morning from home starting at 7AM, and I work nights from 9PM till after midnight. I also work a full day on Saturday, including mornings and nights, and I also work on Sundays as well.

My personal projects are dead. I have a few sites, but never update them. I spent two hours every night with my daughter, and of course Sundays.

Currently Lighspeed and Tanker are off at a convention; I'm covering their asses in addition to my own workload, as well as working on new projects for Lightspeed Media.

I've been working for Lightspeed for over two years, and I've taken one week of vacation.

No one here will ever question me if I decide to take a break.
