ask him what the monthly income is on it right now, and that would probably help you make a more informed decision...

5k hits from once source does not equal the same $$flow from other sources...so if it's a GREAT 5k hits making $$ then cool, if it's some shit 5k hits, then you might wanna drop the price...

does it have linkpop on any engines? does he have a list of trades, etc that he used to manage that you can recontact?

lots of little things to consider....

or not....

yeah, he doesnt make much income from it at all right now. he has ujust let the site go to concentrate on other stuff
he has 1k bookmarkers. the rest is traffic trading

would $600 be too much? too little? i dont know where to start as far as price. never bought any free sites before

$600 sounds to me like a bit too much.

But then again... if he got UCJ and Germes running on the site $600 is fine. The 5k is not worth anything to be honest. Maybe 100-200 dollars in my book. I never pay more for such sites.

$1 bookmarks is worth almost nothing, I wouldn't offer more than $200-300 if that.

ya its not very hard to get a scripted site up to 5k a day. now if its search engine traffic and the site has a kickass page rank it could be worth a few hundred bucks plus the script cost if any.

harvey 02-06-2003 01:46 AM

I've seen that lately most sites are sold for 50-60% of the value of the scripts (if any) and about $100 per every 1000 bookmarks or $300 per 10.000 visitors a day. Don't know why, but most sites are being sold on this basis, it's not explicit, but in the end all sales are made around thes figures. I think it's more reasonable, since the "how much money the site makes" scenario is quite unrealistic. So, if the site has no scripts, it worth no more than $250-300. And that assuming the traffic is steady, not some traffic burst just for the sale. Sincerely, I'd suggest you not to even bother and start a site from scratch, you'll spend less money to get the same traffic

another thing: MGP are a little cheaper than TGP because traffic is even worse, so you'd take something like 20-25% off the final price
